We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica D. Maine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica D., is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Currently, my favorite affirmation is, “There is power in your silence.” In fact, it is the lock screen on my phone. As I have navigated throughout life, I have been able to observe, strategize and govern myself with a more sound mind by just being silent, at times. Additionally, it affords me the opportunity to effectively listen with an empathic ear and an open mind. I used to be consumed with needing to feel understood that I often over-explained in hopes of being “heard.” Although feeling understood is still extremely valuable to me, I also had to mindfully accept the unfortunate reality of others sharing in the same experience. As a result, I’ve been more cognizant of that reality and realized in order to receive that listening ear, I need to be able to model and provide that same experience for others.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Simply put, I build authentic relationships with humans and listen critically enough to see if our worlds collide in a feasible and creative way. I think all dynamic working relationships are cultivated by holistic and meaningful interactions. I am the owner of H.O.P.E. Coaching & Consulting and Beauty Beyond the Brush. Although the business models differ, the primary common denominator is our ability to create authentic experiences unique to each client.

At H.O.P.E (Holistic Optimization for Professional Experiences) Coaching & Consulting, we provide individualized strategic advisory and consulting services to solo-preneurs, entrepreneurs and small businesses to ensure they are given access to resources and information imperative to growing and scaling their businesses in a conscious, holistic and sustainable way.

Beauty Beyond the Brush is essentially where confidence, beauty and empowerment intersect through the art of makeup artistry, engaging workshops and unforgettable events.

What sets both apart from other businesses is our consistent ability to ensure clients feel heard, seen and empowered despite the challenges they encounter throughout the rollercoaster of life and business. We believe mindfulness, intentionality and execution, within life and business, are imperative to thriving and consistent goal attainment. Our hope is to provide exceptional services that cultivate lasting relationships to effectively bridge the gap between how they experience business and an overall healthier human experience as they navigate that journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Man, this is a tough one.

For that morning coffee fix, I would definitely start with finding where Warm & Golden’s Coffee pop-up is located for the day.

I’d stop by Good Coworking to mix and mingle with amazing humans and the connected coworking community.

Ginzaro Sushi at the Dallas Farmers Market is a must for a fun lunch experience – Mr. Choe’s service is unparalleled.

Clyde Warren Park would be a midday pitstop for some sun rays and good vibes.

Val’s Cheesecake is a definite go-to for a sweet treat.

Mesero in Victory Park is a cool spot for a catch-up convo and dinner with a friend.

My last stop would be an evening at the Gallery Rooftop Lounge for drinks and one the best views of Downtown Dallas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Specifically, I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my partner, Will, and my brother, Michael. Will’s strength, effort and ability to overcome the most challenging situations is beyond inspiring.  He is also diligent in sharing the responsibility of “wearing the cape” when I need a break from being superwoman. Michael, devotes so much of his time and gifts to serving others and whole-heartedly fostering a safe and inclusive environment for everyone he comes in contact with. He models what I strive to do on a daily basis.

Lastly, Linda Jones and Ashlee Freese are both inspirational friends, incredible humans and exceptional business owners that believe in my craft and encourage me to bask in my authentic self on a consistent basis.
