We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Boscarini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
You know, it’s fascinating how my relationship with work-life balance has completely shifted since becoming a holistic nutritionist—and honestly, it’s been one of the most humbling journeys of my life.

In the beginning, I was that person who was *obsessed* with helping others transform their health. I’d take on way too many clients, stay up late researching the latest gut health studies, and basically eat, sleep, and breathe nutrition science. But here’s the kicker—I was a walking contradiction! I’d be sitting across from clients preaching about stress management while my own cortisol levels were through the roof.

The wake-up call came when I realized I wasn’t living what I was teaching. How could I guide others toward balance when I was completely out of sync myself?

That’s when everything clicked. My nutrition background became my secret weapon for creating *real* work-life harmony. I started understanding my body’s signals on a deeper level. When I’m overworked, I can literally feel my hormones going haywire—my sleep gets wonky, my digestion suffers, and my energy crashes. Now I’m super intentional about morning rituals that support my hormonal health, like adding adaptogens to my smoothies or timing my workouts with my cycle instead of fighting against it.

And can we talk about gut health for a second? This has been a total game-changer for sustaining my energy through crazy-busy days. I’ve experienced firsthand how a stressed-out gut leads to brain fog and fatigue—which is the *last* thing I need when I’m juggling client calls and mom duties. So I practice what I preach: fermented foods, staying hydrated, and managing stress to keep my gut-brain connection happy.

Having kids added another layer to this whole equation. They’re like these little truth detectors—they know instantly when I’m present versus when I’m mentally still stuck in work mode. They’ve become my best accountability partners without even trying!

These days, I’ve stopped chasing that mythical “perfect balance” and started embracing what I call the *flow approach*. Some weeks, client launches demand more of me. Other times, like during school breaks, family gets my full attention. The key is staying tuned into my body’s signals and making adjustments before I hit that burnout wall.

Honestly? I’m still figuring it out as I go. But having this nutrition knowledge has been like having a roadmap for my own well-being. And even on the messy days when nothing goes according to plan, I know I’m building something sustainable—for me and for my family.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
You know what? I’m so excited to share what makes my approach to nutrition and wellness different—because honestly, it came from some of the hardest experiences of my life, and that’s shaped everything I do.

So here’s the thing—I had my master’s in holistic nutrition, but I didn’t really *get* hormone and gut health until I went through something that completely changed me. I experienced a stillbirth, and that devastating loss became this catalyst for diving deeper into my own healing. I was desperate to understand what happened, and that’s when I discovered I had an MTHFR gene mutation.

That discovery was like this lightbulb moment where everything clicked. I suddenly understood how our genetics, hormones, and gut health are all connected in this incredible web that affects literally everything—our energy, our mood, our ability to lose weight, all of it.

Being a mom of four, I *know* how impossible it can feel to prioritize your health when you’re juggling a million things. That’s exactly why I’m so passionate about making this stuff actually doable. My clients always tell me they love how I take all this complex science and break it down into steps that fit into real life—not some perfect Instagram version of life, but actual messy, busy mom life.

Getting here definitely wasn’t a straight path! After some really challenging relationships taught me what I deserved, I decided to turn my personal healing journey into something that could help others. I got my certifications as a nutritional chef and personal trainer, and slowly built my practice from scratch.

The hardest part? Honestly, it was believing I had something valuable to offer. The wellness space is SO crowded, and I kept questioning whether anyone needed to hear what I had to say. But then I’d see my clients getting results by addressing root causes instead of just slapping band-aids on symptoms, and I knew I was onto something.

Here’s what I’ve learned through all of this: real wellness isn’t about quick fixes or extreme diets. It’s about understanding YOUR unique body, getting your hormones balanced, healing your gut, and finding a way of eating and living that actually feels sustainable. And honestly? I’m still learning and growing right alongside my clients.

What I want you to know about me is that this work comes from the heart. When I lost my baby, I made a promise to turn that pain into purpose. So when my clients succeed, I literally celebrate like it’s my own victory—because in so many ways, it is. I believe everyone deserves to feel amazing in their own skin, and I’m here to help make that happen with strategies that actually work in the real world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d love to show them the best of Dallas my way! Here’s what we’d do:

Day 1: Lake Day!
I’d kick things off with brunch at Flower Child – their Mother Earth bowl is so good and we can feel virtuous while still treating ourselves. Then we’d head straight to Grapevine Lake for the afternoon. I absolutely love it there! We’d rent kayaks for a little workout on the water or just take a nice walk on the trails around the lake. For dinner, we’d hit Mi Cocina for those incredible mango margaritas – seriously, they’re dangerously good!

Day 2: Arts & Chill
We’d check out the Dallas Museum of Art in the morning (it’s free!), then grab lunch at True Food Kitchen in Preston Center. In the evening, maybe catch whatever’s playing at the AT&T Performing Arts Center if something good is on, then dinner at Uchi – their sushi is absolutely next-level and worth every penny. The sake flights are a must-try too!

Day 3: Deep Ellum Day
Coffee at Merit (their almond milk lattes are perfect), then just wandering around looking at all the cool murals and street art. Deep Ellum has such a vibe. We’d pop into shops like Flea Style, grab lunch at Sweetgreen, then definitely catch some live music at night – The Bomb Factory or Trees usually has something good. Late-night tacos at Chilangos to end the night because it’s right by my place and honestly the best.

Day 4: Pool Day & Nice Night
We’d spend the day lounging by the pool, snacking on fruit and veggie snacks to keep it healthy. Just relaxing, catching up, and soaking up the Texas sun. For dinner, we’d get dressed up and go to Sixty Vines – they have amazing veggie options and their wine selection is perfect for a night out.

Day 5: Bishop Arts Wandering
This neighborhood is so cute! We’d start at Tribal All Day Cafe for breakfast (their avocado toast is amazing), then just wander around the shops. Wild Detectives is this cool bookstore/coffee shop worth checking out. We’d definitely stop for a smoothie at JuiceLand to keep our energy up. Dinner at Paradiso because their patio is gorgeous and they have great veggie options.

Day 6: Fort Worth Adventure
We’d take a day trip to Fort Worth to see a different vibe. The Modern Art Museum is actually really cool even if you’re not an art person. We’d walk around Sundance Square and maybe catch the cattle drive at the Stockyards because it’s such a Texas thing to do. We’d grab lunch at Spiral Diner – it’s all vegan and so good even if you’re not vegan. Back in Dallas, dinner at Tei-An for some of the best sushi in town – their soba noodles are incredible too.

Day 7: Final Chill Day
For our last day, we’d do a super relaxed breakfast at First Watch, then head to White Rock Lake for a final outdoor hangout. We’d definitely rent bikes to ride around the lake for some exercise with our fun. Final dinner would be at Nobu for a splurge-worthy sushi experience, followed by one last round of those amazing mango margaritas at Mi Cocina to properly toast our week together.

Honestly, half the fun would just be hanging out by different pools or lakes because that’s my happy place in Dallas. The city has so many great spots to just chill with friends, have some fresh juices or smoothies (or mango margaritas!), and enjoy the weather when it’s nice!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
You know, when I think about my journey into holistic nutrition, I have to give credit to some pretty unexpected teachers—and this might sound a little unconventional at first.

I actually want to thank some of the really challenging relationships from my past. I know that sounds weird, but hear me out! Those difficult experiences were like a wake-up call that taught me something I desperately needed to learn—my body’s true worth and how important it is to actually *honor* it through proper nutrition and care. Sometimes we need those hard lessons to realize what we deserve, you know?

But then there were my friends—oh my gosh, these amazing people who saw something in me that I couldn’t see yet. For years, whenever I’d share something about health or talk through my own wellness struggles, they’d be like, “Girl, you know SO much about this stuff! You should totally do something with it!” At first, I’d brush it off, but they kept pushing me to dig deeper into my own health concerns and challenges.

And honestly? That’s where everything started. What began as me just trying to figure out my own body turned into this whole journey—a master’s degree in holistic nutrition, getting certified as a nutritional chef and personal trainer, and now I have this practice where I get to help other people optimize their hormone and gut health.

It’s funny how life works, isn’t it? Sometimes our biggest teachers come in the most unexpected packages. The tough relationships that showed me what I actually deserve, and the supportive friends who believed in me before I believed in myself—they were both exactly what I needed to find my way to this work I’m so passionate about.

If you’re struggling with your own health journey right now, I just want you to know that sometimes those really hard chapters? They end up being the most important ones in your story. Trust me, I’m living proof of that.
