We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Alex and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesse, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Dear Fathers is a media company that tells stories of black fatherhood. As a media company focused on black fathers, we feel it’s super important to play a part in changing the narrative of how the world views black men/black fathers. With everything going on in the world, the stories we tell through our platform is really difference making content that needs to be viewed by everyone all over the world. We provide a safe space for black men/fathers to be vulnerable, learn, and grow from one another while building community and uplifting the communities we live in.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The work we’re doing with Dear Fathers really excites me because it comes from a place of passion and purpose. Dear Fathers was started because I grew up with a father, and so did a lot of my friends, so I wanted to help create a platform that was different from anything ever seen in the black fatherhood space. Providing people with a story telling platform, we have the chance to really move the needle for black men/fathers.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly, I’d like to shoutout my close friends and family. They provide me with motivation, support, and advice to keep going through the journey of entrepreneurship. Not only supporting my ideas, but being honest with me about how they truly feel about the things that I have going on.
