We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess Crouch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
There wasn’t one. Our business came about in a very unconventional way that is likely much of the reason for its success. The plan was not well thought out nor was it intentional. Instead it grew from inspiration and instinct which led to it being a very effortless creation that is authentic to not only who we are but allows it to evolve as we do over the years.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I am most proud of about our brand is the legacy that our creations will leave behind. It took 17 years to refine our look, garner a reputation and following and the confidence to pursue a business model that pivoted away from the security of custom orders that we had always known. However, the day we did is the day we went from being just a business to building the legacy brand we are today.
No longer having constraints on our hand crafted designs allowed us the freedom to evolve our look creating only inspired pieces that we truly love. A liberation of which the results I had vastly underestimated.
The heirloom pieces that we create today are cherished and will be passed down for generations to come. That legacy is what I am the most proud of.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop, Fort Worth Stockyards. No trip to DFW is complete without this experience. While there, we’d grab the most “Texas” dinner ever at the iconic Lonesome Dove, and end the night catching a concert at Billy Bob’s.

An ice cold martini at the Bowie House’s 200 year old bar top followed by dinner at Brick’s and Horses can’t be beat.

Strolling through Bishop Arts District is one of my favorite weekend activities, and I find a new treasure every time I visit.

One day would be spent taking a little drive down to Glen Rose to experience Fossil Rim wildlife safari. A hands on experience you won’t ever forget.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Jim. I would never have pursued this career, and would have quite 100 times if he hadn’t believed in me more than I believe in myself.
