We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremy, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
As long as you’re learning something new every day, thats the best reason to keep going.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a freelance graphic designer that specializes in creating a brand identity and strategy. Throughout the years of being in business, I learned to consider branding to be like a “match-maker.” When you’re single, you don’t find the best partner by saying, “Pick me, pick me!” You find the best partner by knowing who you are, having core values, and say to yourself, “This is who I am and this is what I have to offer” and then see who you attract. When creating a strategy and identity for a business, you use the company values and goals to create a brand that speaks to people. Your brand is a part of your company and social culture and being able to use my knowledge of business and creative, it’s very exciting to see it all come to life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to The Londoner in Addison for breakfast/brunch. If youre a soccer fan, thats the best place to go on the weekends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Professors Rock Morris. Rock taught me how to work hard as a graphic designer and to never give up. He wasn’t easy on us and Im so grateful for it. He constantly pushed us out of our comfort zone and I know if I didn’t have that kind of work ethic, I wouldn’t be who I am today.
