We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Goodloe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremy, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
For my entire life I’ve always been a person who has tried to bring joy to people’s life. I was never musically gifted, but i loved music, hence my desire to dj! I feel like I’ve been able to bring joy to all the people I’ve dj’d for. Weddings are my favorite because the dj is one of the most important parts of the ceremony. I love bringing folks vision into existence and i believe I’ve been able to do that successfully throughout the years.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting to where I’m at today took a lot of work. But i had a lot of help as well. I have a lot of friends in the music industry, and in the entertainment industry, who gave me chances that beginner dj’s probably don’t get. When i started 10-12 years ago my brother was on a tour with some of the biggest artists in the world and he gave me a shot on the big stage. I never looked back and took advantage of the opportunity. Djing is far from easy though. Everybody has different taste in music so learning how to read the crowd was a big deal.
Also i had to eventually learn how to blend music, beat match, match tempos etc… so that was all a challenge. And to be honest it still is. That’s why you have to continually put in work.
A lesson i learned is you cannot cheat the game when it comes to djing. If you don’t practice you’ll look and sound bad and that’s not how you want to represent yourself or your brand.
I probably could’ve taken djing to a different level but i really like to pick and choose the events i do. I really like weddings, anniversary parties, and corporate events. Clubs are not really my thing.
As far as my story, it’s just beginning and I’m excited to see how far i can go.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Because i live in North Fort Worth, if my best friend was coming to visit the first place we’d visit is the stockyards. Just so they can get a feel for Texas. Next on the agenda would be brunch at Kitchen N Kocktails downtown Dallas for some good food and drinks.
I’d say on a Friday Night I’d go to Garden Dallas, the nightclub. Always good vibes there.
I’d also have to take them to Kiss for happy hour.
The last two must see spots for me would be Sandaga for the live music and the bbq in the back, and i would def go to Lava Cantina for Sunday Funday and enjoy the live music there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Well first and foremost my wife Felicia. When i first started she was at every event with me helping me curate the music, helping me load equipment, just all around holding it down. I also used to dj with a partner, and although we don’t partner anymore he had a huge impact on my style of djing.
My brother Steve who basically gave me all of his dj equipment in the beginning when i couldn’t afford my own deserves some recognition and credit as well. Last but not least a friend of my guy Ryan Henry of Black Ink. He gave me endless opportunities at his events to dj and get my name out there. I was terrible and he didn’t care, he let me continue until i got better.
