We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremiah Woodard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremiah, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I think whatever makes you give up can also make you keep going. Take music for example, every artist struggles to get recognition or a hit on the radio. When artists think that they should give up, it fires them up to keep making music.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from everybody else is I like to take my time when it comes to shooting. I’ve always loved landscape and nature so I try to use that as like a foundation whenever I’m doing photoshoots. I get compliments from other photographers saying my pictures are amazing and that’s what keeps me going. It’s definitely not easy at all, but I’d much rather work harder doing something I love than doing something I hate. What I want everyone to know is whatever you enjoy, give it your all or else you’re just wasting your time and just because someone that you know is gaining more traction it doesn’t mean that they are good at what they do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t really leave the house much, but downtown would be my go to. There is so much history in that area and an arcade if they like games just as much as I do.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my brother, Tommy, for getting me interested in photography and for teaching me everything I know.
