We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Becerra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
I would have to say one of the most important decisions I’ve made was to put God at the forefront of everything I do, so my faith first followed by my family. Keeping my faith was a necessity and instrumental in my future plans. God helps lead the way. He leads a path I would never have imagined. He also covers me when I no longer feel the strength to keep going. My beautiful family helps support my decisions and encourages even my wildest dreams. They are my strength, backbone and the driving factor to what I do. Without these two motivating factors I know I wouldn’t be who I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m most proud of being a successful business owner, but it hasn’t come easy. It’s been something I have poured my heart and soul into. I have spent numerous nights trying to brand my name, showcase my work, and find clients that believed in me. Clients that were willing to give me an opportunity to showcase my talent. Show them how passionate I am about color and how we can take color and make it a work of art. Every color can be so unique depending on clients’ needs or wants; and you can literally transform someone’s personality by simply changing hair color – it’s truly amazing to see. What sets me apart is that I listen to my client’s needs and advise them based on what will work for their individual skin tone, but I also incorporate their lifestyle into their own unique color. I ensure my clients leave completely satisfied – that is always my top priority and goal. I’m not happy unless my clients are. I want the world to know that behind being a business owner, I’m a wife, and mother to a handsome boy. Although I pour my soul into my business, I’m even more passionate about my family. They are my entire world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Mesero because I like the atmosphere. it’s a great place to hang out, enjoy some good food and drinks. After all this, we’d have to definitely go by Sweet Firefly for some amazing ice-cream.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband is my biggest supporter and fan. He is definitely my rock. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve needed his strength to help in accomplishing my dreams. He encourages me and his wisdom to discern through things amazes me constantly. This journey has been successful because he believes in me. I’m truly blessed to have such an amazing husband. He’s also an amazing father to our son. He’s who I thank god for every day.
