We had the good fortune of connecting with Jen Symes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jen, what do you attribute your success to?
As a wedding and portrait photographer, I am driven to provide my clients with an elevated and unforgettable experience and images full of honesty and beauty that will become cherished heirlooms. The one thing that makes all of this a reality is me as the artist. As the artist, I can approach creating imagery with vision and the use of light to create something magical.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I consider myself truly fortunate to have photographed weddings for the last seven years. Doing something so beautiful for a living now, that touches so many lives, is the best gift. Riches, I believe, are genuinely measured in memories, friends, and family, and being able to give something of myself to others. I feel truly rich to give my couples something tangible in the form of timeless wedding photos that become true heirlooms.
Working with both medium format film and digital mediums, it is my desire to capture photographs that reflect my client’s unique love story with an artistic, romantic, and timeless eye. I strive to create photos that are authentic and beautiful.I provide my clients with an incredible experience that is both effortless and natural and provide imagery that emulates their truest self and love story.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would begin our day with a facial and massage at Copper Leaf Spa in Winnsboro, TX. We would then shop around the downtown area browsing the antique shops and boutiques. We would grab a quick bite at Liefie Li Vine where they serve up a modern South African fusion fair. Then a drive out to Los Pinos Vineyard for a leisurely stroll through the vines, sipping wine in their outdoor patio overlooking the vineyard and sharing their iconic charcuterie board or a chef specialty. We would end the evening at our bed and breakfast in Emory, TX, The Estate at Raintree Ranch, a luxury boutique bed and breakfast mansion in the French Orleans style, sitting on the spacious front wrap-around porch before retiring for the night.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband has supported and encouraged me in my business and creative pursuits!
