Meet Jean Choyce | Travel Advisor & Concierge

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jean Choyce and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jean, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After almost 39 years as a Federal servant, I am planning my retirement in the next few months! With my current career travel was required about 50 % of the time, so with retirement upcoming I prayed for direction in my life. It was not so long after which I was led to becoming a home based Independent travel advisor (ITA)!
This has been a smooth transition to doing what I liked most about the last 39 years, travel, and at the same time I will be able to help families and other clients create memories along the way! I have slowly began with ITA training as there is a lot to learn with providing concierge services. After all, my services include assisting clients with booking hotels/Resorts/Villas, Cruises, Flights, Rentals, and once at destination, spa services, local recreational/amusement/theme parks, sports tickets/special events/venues, and last but not least destination tours.
I am ready to create lasting memories for each and every client that I am able serve! The last two years or so with Covid-19 restrictions, we are now ready to be free once again to discover or rediscover what we have missed…travel. Yes, travel vacations and adventures to clients worldwide!
I am learning and growing all over again! This is most exciting to me as I push forward with my life. It is not over. I have more to give and share. I also plan to do lots of travel via land and sea so that I can share experiences with my clients as they get ready and set to go see the world once again!
Retirement from one career and preparing for the next, does a body (and mind) good! I plan to have a wealth of knowledge about the Travel Business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When you think you have said it all, there is even more to share about the journey that has landed me here now. After graduating from college, who would have ever thought I would land a job with the Federal government? Well, that is the route my life took and I have not regretted it one bit. Over the years I promoted up within the same line of transportation work and began flying to various sites for work.
Today, I continue to have a desire to travel and work! Now, I can work from anywhere, Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, and more locations. This is called “work” when I have to do ship and resort/hotel inspections! I have put the time in and learned to develop skills over the years to work with a variety of challenging situations and people. This has NOT always been easy as you can imagine but you become the professional that is able to meet any challenge straight on and provide excellent service and relationships along the way!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to Nikki Mack for all her encouragement and love. Nikki recently transitioned into her entrepreneurial business as well and continues to thrive and reach for more. This has been awesome watching her grow into the “coach” for people anywhere that need someone to assist them push through to their NEW life!
My family has been my “why” for the transition as they know that Mom has lots to give and share with all that come across my path. God has been so good to me and this makes it easy for me to GIVE and share the love.
I want to live the life I talk about, and share all the goodness that has been bestowed upon me!
