We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmine Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazmine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Before I started my business, I’ve always enjoyed flowers, fashion and art. One day I just told myself that being a florist is a creative expression that I wanted to try. After my birthday I just made that move and gave it a try. I didn’t really have a process I just knew I could do it and made it happen.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
During this journey I take pride in my ability to be able to adapt and improve my skills. I look at my first arrangement and I look at where I am now, and it allows me to give so much gratitude to God for being able to embrace an experience like this. It really motivates me to keep pushing to be great. There are some times where I’m not so inspired or have some blocks, but I take that time to regroup and practice stillness. I’ve learned so many lessons along this journey. It has truly shown me how far I can push myself when it comes to my creativity. My goal with my business is to inspire people and give them an insight when it comes to floristry.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take my friend to hotpot because it is a true experience lol! I love a good museum, so Dallas Contemporary is a go to spot. Honestly any creative thing or something involving nature I would take a friend a long

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my shout out to the people who believe in me and continue to push me everyday. My parents, my sister, my family, my boyfriend and close friends. They inspire me truly to keep pushing.
