We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayvier Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jayvier, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is staying true to who I am. Not changing for anybody. As well as simply doing it for the love of the music. I make music for me and for fun. And that’s all that really matters. Now on a more technical side, I make time. I try to map out every and do it on a scheduled base. We all have so much to do but if you can make time, you can get anything done.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s been about 2 and half years of me really doing production and I think I’ve come pretty far. I really need to do better on the marketing side of things. Like consistency and overall social media look. But right now I’m slowly building my following one step at a time. I work 40 hours a week as well. So I really only have time once I’m off work. I’ve learned to just relax and be patient. Don’t rush things. Things take time. Better late than never. But who’s checking the time? I want the world to know that if you discover me or my music and you enjoy it, thank you. It means a lot. I’ve had people from all over the world tell me they support me and it means so much. I promise I’m really nice if you get to know me. I’m super confident in what I do even though I know I’m not the best but that may come off a bit cocky sometimes. However, in no way what so ever would I ever try to let an ego get ahead of me. If you support me, I support you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Where I’m from there are so many creeks, lakes, ponds, wooded areas, you get the gist of it. Out about 3 or 4 miles past my old school there was a gated church camp on a giant peninsula going out into Lake Lewisville. There’s really cool trails and camping spots. Now if you head about 10 miles in the opposite direction, you’ll hit the square. There’s a bunch of cool restaurants, gift shops, stores, and even bars. With it being a college town there’s a lot of things poppin. We also have this place called Fry Street located pretty much on the University of North Texas in Denton.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out Jesus Lopez or commonly known as Manny. He took me to my first music festival in 2017 and from that moment I knew this is what I wanted to do.
