We had the good fortune of connecting with Jatonia Eatmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jatonia, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Following attending school to be a massage therapist, I found out a lot about oils. After studying the different oils, the knowledge of the municipal healing properties were discovered. It was then that I started applying certain oils to my hair. Within a certain amount of time, I noticed that my hair was improving and also the length was increasing. Along the way there were people I came in contact with who were having hair and scalp issues. It was then that I wanted to share what was happening with me, so that I could assist others.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business idea has been to help others care for not only their hair, but to help them gain their confidence back. Back in 2014, I did a lot of research into whether their were other hair care lines using essential oils. I found out there were only about four. So, as for my company, a lot of time, experience, and experimentation of my products has been conducted on my self and others, and therefore my products are client driven. Needless to say, that has helped to generate where I am today, meeting customer needs in a general or specialized way. Situations haven’t always lead to ease, because other factors can come into play. For example, the COVID situation caused many adjustments, with regard to connecting with clients, or even with getting the supply needs met. As challenges arose, I found that keeping the communication open with my clients helped, with additional emails, or even by offering special sales. The lessons I have learned along the way, are to be patient, and not to give up. As for the world, one must be willing to keep the faith, and strive in remaining true to the goal of wanting to help self, as well as others.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them on a road trip to the Sedona valley. It has many beautiful and relaxing places. There are spas and natural springs into which to soothe yourself in. The natural energy there causes you to further cleans yourself with healthy foods, and clears your senses. Being outdoors around the water, has always been a refreshing thing to do whenever possible.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents, Robert and Janice, helped me as I made it through my school years to stay on track, even into my extra studies in Cosmetology. Later because of that encouragement, I ventured into the field of Massage, and thus with those two things, massage and cosmetology under my belt, the two were combined as a base for my business.
