Meet Jason McLain | Sales rep and installer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason McLain and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I worked for Fastsigns in Lewisville from 2004-2018, my owner sold the store to a new owner, and we did not see eye to eye on things and I decided I wanted to do my own thing and here we are.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I worked for Fastsigns, we were trained to answer the call for all industries and their sign needs. When we started this company, we were only going to focus on the installing aspect for local sign shops. It started out slow because of Covid, so at first it was more of a struggle than a business. When I was with FS, one of my main accounts was the Lewisville ISD. When I first left, there was a lot of turnover and mismanaged jobs for the district thru FS. One day the principle of Hebron HS reached out to me and asked if we would be willing to become a vendor of the district. We of course said yes, at that point we decided to go a different route. We decided to become a sign shop for schools. We have done anything from wall wraps to hall passes. We pride ourselves on promoting school pride, both inside and outside the school. We try to promote the school’s history in sports, academics, school outreach and school functions. I love seeing a kids face when they see something in the history about the school that they did not know or doing something having to do with school pride and hearing a student brag about what we are doing, that makes it all worthwhile. Kids are our future weather we see it or not, and I want the students of LISD to not only be proud of where they have come from but be proud to let everyone KNOW where they came from.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
GRANDSCAPE all the way. We live in the Colony, and Grandscape has everything that you would need from eating, shopping or just plain entertainment, they have it all. The scenery and atmosphere are a step above in my opinion, and the locals are good hearted people. But being we are in the Metroplex, you still have the Rangers, Cowboys, Mavericks and Stars. There are tons of places to go from water parks to theme parks, there is never a lost for thing to do here.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife and God. Without those two, we would not be talking about this. My wife has encouraged, pushed and stood by me thru all of this, and I know if she was not in my life I would not be here today. Not only did God give me a life, but he went the extra mile when he gave me her. It is easy to do hard things when you have him in your corner, he gave me a life, he gave me a life worth living and he gave me the tools to be able to make it and show that ANYONE can do something special if you dedicate yourself. God, Wife and hard work.
