We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Valdez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The thought process behind the idea for my business was to celebrate the many special occasions the entire world celebrates year to year, birthdays anniversaries, mothers day for a few examples and do this with items people can personalize. Most people want to give meaningful gifts and with my business they can showcase this in many different ways.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I do think of my business as an art. Throughout my life I have always treated my situation as my drawing board. Whether in the humble dwellings that housed earlier parts of my life to the first major home I purchased, I perfected and treated each room in my home as an art piece. I would decorate the rooms cohesively and as I would if I were decorating a palace. My artistic side has set me apart from others as many see my attention to detail and my appreciation for colors and combinations of items that could make any room come together. I am most excited to see my business continue to flourish, as any small business owner would be. I got where I am today by being determined, assessing my situation and making the most of it for me and my kids. Never giving in to life’s obstacles and never giving up. It was not easy but for my children I would do it all over again. I have learned to never give up and to open my mind to the positivity that others share with me about life and professionalism. What I want the world to know about my brand is that everything is possible, if you knew my whole story you would believe so too.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Happy-hour any where throughout the city would-be my go to. Im privy to some of the best drink spots in town.. More specifically, Gloria’s, Campuzanos and all the other amazing food options we have in our city!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are definitely those who I’d love to thank who have helped me along the way! I do also maintain a full-time position at a local establishment that at times has taken me away from being fully present with my personal business. I have had family, my mother to be a little more specific, Connie Valdez, and friends that include other successful entrepreneurs who want to see me succeed help me when I might have fallen short. I am continually grateful to those who have helped me and continue to help me along the way.
