We had the good fortune of connecting with Janiqua Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janiqua, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Hello, my work life at first I couldn’t really do anything I wanted to do since being a sahm. I couldn’t decide on what I really wanted to do with my life being that I took care of home and my family first before anything, for 9 years. Fast forward to Now, I am able to do things that I love to do and relearning who I am as a person and business owner. I am balancing my businesses and home separately so while the kids are in school I am working on content or doing hair, when they get home from school, that time is dedicated to family time

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Where I am today took a lot of healing and growth. Since the last time, I have been really focusing on doing hair (I specialize in locs and kid braids, so book!) . I know that when my hair is done, I am happier and more confident. I let my work speak for itself, I love making people feel good and confident. I am also starting my herbal side to GoldynGoddess. This side of my business is to help people heal and get healthy the natural way. I’ve learned many lessons especially staying consistent with my goals and pushing hard. I want the world to know GoldynGoddess is here to stay and I am only going to get bigger and better.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m always in the mood for Mexican or seafood. My favorite Mexican spot is Campuzanos in Dallas. That would be the first place we go and stop at. I really don’t have an itinerary, I usually suggest something or we look up stuff to do after we eat. I think everyone should check out the day parties they have in Dallas or in the Arlington area. Immersive gaming is located in Deep Ellum, which was really fun and also Game show battle rooms in Farmers Branch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Chandra Weekley, she is a great person inside and out. An extremely hardworking person that I honestly look up to! Make sure to follow her on instagram at weekley_agency Also I would love to give my husband Gregory Schrock credit and recognition as well. He has been here every step of the way. Motivating me, pushing me to do better and helping me grow as a business owner and woman. He works in the music industry as well and is a great father to our beautiful children.
