We had the good fortune of connecting with Janelle Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janelle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I originally started my business career when I started my Baking business. And things have been amazing since the time I started. But over time, I got fascinated with hosting events. It started from Girls Nights to Baby Showers and now Networking Events! Something about helping small businesses get their name out there and boosting up their sales/clientele is just an amazing feeling for me. Some people host events just for the money but I end up spending money. And that’s just to showcase a lot of the wonderful masterpieces that a lot of these vendors have to offer.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I currently have a Baking Business that keeps me busy every weekend. It’s a home-based business but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love how I can be with my kids and make money to help support my family as well. But my husband and I had a conversation about past events that I’ve thrown. (3 have been Epic baby showers of ours) lol and we got to thinking about why not pursue it into a career move. So we decided to create our Event Planning business J&H Unforgettable Events.
It hasn’t been an easy road. Especially being someone on social media. People see you’re doing good and want to try to tear your blessings away from you. But I believe I’m much stronger than that. I keep pushing and the end result will be amazing!
I just want the world to know that I’ll always put others first and if there’s a way I can help in anyway, I will!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It would definitely depend on the day! lol There will be lists of things to do. Anything from grabbing a bite from Cheri’s, Ely, Cristal, Jaime or Amber to going to get our lashes done from Leslie or even getting dolled up from Doris and Jessica. There’s many people and places I can take them and that’s just naming a few!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think the main person that needs recognition in my story, is my Husband Eric. Ever since day one, he has always believed in me. Whether it was the baking business or even til now with the Event Planning. He’s always asking what he can do to make my workload lighter. And if that doesn’t tell you how amazing he is, I don’t know what will! He will always deserve recognition in my world.
