We had the good fortune of connecting with Jahir Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jahir, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success, I would say is the dedication and the mindset I received from my parents. Being immigrants in this country they strived to give me and my sister a better life. They engraved a strong quote that has stuck with me and that is, I must do better in life than they did due to the possibilites I have compared to what they had growing up. Growing up seeing my father have 3 jobs throughout the week to make ends meet for the family while my mom worked one full time time allowed me to see the strong work ethic they have which has now been passed down to me. That is one of the main reasons my mindset has been set on success will not come easy, especially being an English language learner and coming from a family that could not dominate the language here in the states.

What should our readers know about your business?
With Fight Hub Tv, I currently serve as a boxing reporter traveling to different events across the nation and outside the country when the opportunity is presented. I currently conduct interviews with fighters, trainers, promoters, and much more. I can say I got here today with consistency and a strong work ethic that I inherited from my parents. As I started doing local media across the city of Dallas Fort Worth, I always wanted to do more and work for a successful media outlet that I had been closely watching and keeping up with for a long time. It was never an easy road for me due to the comments coming from different directions. Many told me I was wasting my time on this hobby or that I would never get anywhere. I purely stuck to my craft and have made it into something. I would like the world to know that I provide genuine, accurate and pure boxing information to our audience. They can trust me with anything I present to our audience as they are receiving relevant and on the spot information related to boxing events.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area provides a variety of places to go and things to do. I think anywhere you go across the Metroplex you will be satisfied. I personally would suggest, Pluckers, a restaurant with a great sports atmosphere not to mention the amazing wings they serve that will fulfill your appetite. Dallas also has various sports teams that could keep you entertained throughout the week. The Dallas Cowboys, located in Arlington. You are sure to have a great time because the surrounding areas by the stadium have a lot of cool places to hangout before you go to the game. Let’s not forget the Texas Rangers who are just walking distance from the ATT Stadium. We also have the Dallas Mavericks/Stars games located in downtown Dallas, where you can pre-game in close locations before the games and be ready to cheer on your team. Near those stadiums you have cool hang out spots that are near the uptown area, Deep Ellum area. These are just some of the wonderful spots that you can explore here in Dallas. Believe me you will never be bored in Dallas!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
With my current “success” at the moment I would definitely want to give this shout out to Marcos Villegas, the founder of Fight Hub Tv, who gave me the opportunity to follow my dreams in covering the sport of boxing. In a tight competitive media atmosphere, Marcos has given me the chance to grow in the field of media and go to different places where I never thought I would ever step foot in. The simple fact that I am allowed to interview and talk to fighters, trainers and various people that have a huge impact in the sport of boxing is a true blessing and I am beyond thankful for that.
