We had the good fortune of connecting with Jade Dorsey/Crystal Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jade Dorsey/Crystal Holmes, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Jade and I met while our sons played on the same basketball team. We would often see each other and noticed we both had a love for sneakers. We started talking about the wins and losses we took trying to get the sneakers wanted. Those conversations coupled with our similar styles, the thought in creating a streetwear brand to wear with our sneakers was born. Sneakersnobs are those who are authentic to their individual style, in whichever type of sneakers they like.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sneakersnob Shop is a streetwear apparel brand. We carry t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, joggers and shorts to be worn with your favorite sneakers. We believe in being authentic to yourself and having a style that is unique to each individual while rocking whatever sneakers you love. We are a woman owned business, but our apparel caters to all. We have been vendors at most local Dallas/Fort Worth sneaker shows and ventured out of state to the Sneakercon’s in Denver, Atlanta and Ft. Lauderdale. We are proud to support the sneaker community and build a network with sneaker lovers and streetwear brands from all over the country. We find a way to connect with each city we do events in by making apparel specific to their area; for example, for Sneakercon in Ft. Lauderdale, we made a Rick Ross shirt and Miami heat shorts. We continue to find creative ways to contribute to the community and support other brands as well.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Depends, is there a Sneaker event that weekend?! LOL. Definitely hitting some of sneaker stores: Centre, Sneaker Politics, Nollege and Global Dallas. Wild Detectives in Bishop Arts for coffee, Paradiso for lunch and Atlas for late drinks. Deep Ellum for Serious Pizza and drinks at Vidorra. Of course we can’t forget about dessert, Milk and Cream on Greenville Ave. If we make our way to Fort Worth, Avoca Coffee, Grace for their amazing oyster and drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We’ve had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people since we’ve launched Sneakersnob. We wanted to give a shoutout to our daughters Jada and Laila, they are essential in promoting the brand, creating ideas, modeling the apparel and helping at the events. Showing our daughters entrepreneurship opens up the endless possibilities that is available to them.
