Meet Jacob Clarke | Real Estate Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacob Clarke and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacob, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
For us, starting a business has obviously shifted our work-life balance more towards the work side lately. But to us, that feels like a good switch. Work can be fulfilling, and for us, this business is. The business and the work with it brings us a sense of accomplishment, direction, and fulfillment, plus it enables us to fund and enjoy our lives even more. So while work might be more of our focus these days, our lives do, in fact, feel even more balanced.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My wife and I both have four-year degrees in totally different fields from our business. We both are working full-time at universities in Dallas while we started this real estate media business. Getting through college and into a university job has taken a constant dedication to excelling at what we put our minds to. That attitude has carried into running a business, where we know we can tackle the challenges ahead. Starting a business with a full-time job is obviously time-consuming and requires a lot of multitasking and wearing many different hats, but to us, it has been very rewarding. A business along with a full-time job has taught us how to be both employer and employee. We are learning new skills every day and we know it will set us up for long-term success.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We recently invested in some electric bikes, so riding along the Katy Trail or White Rock lake is our favorite thing to do in the nice weather. Our restaurant recommendations are; Pie Tap, Industrial Pizza + Brew in Richardson, Tofu Factory Dallas for the full Korean dish experience, or JGs Old Fashioned Hamburgers. We also love the Dallas Stars hockey games! Six Flags is also a great experience, and the Texas Rangers stadium is right across the street so roller coasters followed by baseball would perfectly wrap up a week in Dallas!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my wife, Amanda. She helps me in the daily operations of the business and has been the kickstarter for getting this whole project going. She is beyond encouraging of any endeavor of mine and incredibly supportive of everything I do. Without her encouragement, I wouldn’t have to focus or energy to keep up with all the tasks of starting a new business.
