We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Renteria and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jackie, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Dallas Texas… Pleasant grove ro be exact, however my parents are from Mexico. My mother Maria Renteria was from Durango Mexico & my father Valdemar Rentería is from Nuevo Laredo. My parents migrated from Mexico to the United States to give me and my siblings a better life. It has impacted us hugely because we know what it’s like to work hard for what we have and we value it so much because of how hard we work. I am a hard worker because my parents taught me and raised me to work towards all my goals.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Marias Joyeria is named after my mother Maria Renteria she passed in June 2021 due to Cancer. My mother use to sell jewelry and we started this business in honor of her and ro keep her legacy alive.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I will take them to see The reunión tower, Margaret hunt hill bridge, and Klyde Warren Park.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother Maria De Jesús Rentería is who I owe everything to. When we were young my family and I started by selling at local flea markets. Since I was a kid I remember spending every weekend setting up our tent and tables to be able to sell and make money. I owe my success to her and my father Valdemar Rentería.
