We had the good fortune of connecting with Indiia S.W. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Indiia, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
There are several habits that I feel are a requirement to being successful. One of the most important things for me has been perseverance. I genuinely believe that if it does not challenge you, it will not change you. I am constantly working to better everything associated with me and my business. Whether it is time management, knowledge of products or discipline. It all comes down to staying persistent.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I think what sets Imminence By Indiia apart from other brands is the fact that I focus on self-care and elegance both mentally and physically. I am sybarite and I also heavily promote protecting my peace.

I want you to be able to look at my candles or centerpieces or even furniture that I have created and feel like you need my art in your life.

I love to smell good, so I flirt with all different fragrances. I love to be different and unique, so creativity is immortal. My candles can look like a delicious delectable or simply picturesque! Nothing is too vacuous because you are the substance. You are customizing something to your taste. Did I mention the vessels are all reusable? For example, you can send them back to me for re-candling. I will ship that back to you at no additional cost.

I think being open to feedback and criticism helped me get to where I am today.

The beautiful part of collaborating with people from all diverse levels of society is that you do encounter individuals who do not necessarily feel the same as you do about your art. We all need to know that this is OK! That is not what defines your success. Hear but do not take offense. Personally, I would just sip Imminence Wine and take that feedback as a reminder to be open minded. The constructive and even the gloom-ridden is important for growth and development. Balance.

Challenges are a part of the territory! I would say for me one of the biggest challenges was learning how to financially budget for my personal and business life. If we are being honest, I started my business using any additional money that I had after bills. This meant that there was no business account, no start-up loan and no real plan as to how I was going to pay for the cost of materials and make a profit.

This was one of the deciding factors in the decision for me to return to school. I am currently working on my bachelor’s in business. The education piece is consequential to running a healthy business. I have also been present at seminars and training to understand how important being fiscally responsible is. I am truly invested in all aspects.

I realized that I should have had a plan! However, I am more grateful that I did not. Plans can be petrifying and that creates a domino effect causing procrastination. You find yourself thinking about all the things you want right before you even start the journey. No thanks! Sometimes believing in yourself is all the plan you need. So, you can keep the excel spreadsheet and give me a pen and twenty sticky notes! I would rather paste the ideas all around me. Lol

What I want the world to know about Imminence By Indiia is that I strive to give 100%. I customize because I want you to feel empowered. I promote elegance and class and beautiful aesthetics because you deserve the finest. Please understand that each item that I have chosen to create and vend is to promote you being in control of what is around you. Peace and Love!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
While I love a good home cooked meal and solidarity, every now and then I will sneak off. You can find me along Seventh Street in Downtown Fort Worth. I am so Texas! Place me outdoors with fresh air, live music, and sweet tea. You will end up with enjoyable conversation and good laughs.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s going to sound so cliché but my biggest support system is my family. I cannot stop thanking them enough for the aid, guidance and oblation that continues to contribute to the triumph of Imminence By Indiia.
I would like to shed light on networking! Often, we are advised to network, but I do not think we utterly understand the importance of sharing ideas and getting advice. Understanding that everyone has their own journey towards their success. The beautiful souls of industrious individuals fighting to watch a dream come true has really made me respect the journey that I am on. That journey is to better my brand and make Imminence By Indiia a household brand.
