We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Perez Trowbridge, LPC-S and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My goal in starting my own business was to create a private practice where individuals will receive quality care with amazing Mental Health Clinicians. My hope was to create an environment that feels safe, warm, and comfortable for individuals seeking out support for mental health difficulties. It is important for me to create a business filled with great mental health practitioners who care about their client’s well-being. With having my own business I am able to implement my own processes and views that allows my private practice to be successful. Mindful Solutions Counseling strives to help individuals find life-changing solutions that will improve quality of life and hope for the future.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Mindful Solutions Counseling works with children, individuals, couples, and families ages 5 and up. We offer a solution focused approach, which uses goal-oriented questioning when working with clients. It has taken several years to grow my practice while working multiple jobs. I had my vision set to have a successful business and knew it would take hard work to achieve my goal. I am proud to have grown my practice and have multiple therapists at Mindful Solutions Counseling. The therapists at Mindful Solutions Counseling have various skills, education, specializations, and backgrounds that allows us to best fit clients’ needs. Growing a business can be challenging at times, but the outcome of your hard work will make all the effort worthwhile.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some great places I like to hang out in Fort Worth is Sundance Square, Magnolia Ave, and West 7th. Top golf would be a great place to hang out and maybe some axe throwing to add some excitement. I may also invite them to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with me and have them meet some exciting people at the gym.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like send a shout out to Dr. Linda Metcalf, LMFT-S, LPC-S; Brighter Possibilities Family Counseling, Zen Life Counseling, Dr. Rhonda Johnson, LMFT-S, LPC-S; and Elliott Connie, LPC.
