Hi Hannah + Stephanie, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
At Caroline + Co., our perspective on work-life balance has evolved significantly since our inception. In the early days of our business, like many startups, we often found ourselves working around the clock, pouring every ounce of energy into getting our company off the ground. While this intense focus was necessary at the time, we quickly realized that sustaining such a pace wasn’t feasible or healthy in the long run.
As we’ve grown and matured as a company, we’ve come to understand that true success isn’t just about business metrics—it’s about creating an environment where our team can thrive both professionally and personally. We’ve made a conscious effort to shift our approach to work-life balance, recognizing that when our employees are well-rested, fulfilled, and have time for their personal lives, they bring more creativity, energy, and passion to their work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1: Downtown Dallas

Morning: Start with breakfast at Café Momentum, supporting at-risk youth while enjoying delicious food.
Afternoon: Visit the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza to learn about JFK’s legacy.
Evening: Dinner at Pecan Lodge for some of the best BBQ in Texas, followed by drinks at the Midnight Rambler cocktail salon.

Day 2: Arts District & Uptown

Morning: Explore the Dallas Museum of Art and Nasher Sculpture Center.
Afternoon: Shop and stroll along McKinney Avenue in Uptown.
Evening: Enjoy dinner at Uchi for innovative Japanese cuisine, then catch a show at the Winspear Opera House.

Day 3: Fort Worth

Morning: Visit the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District; catch the cattle drive at 11:30 AM.
Afternoon: Explore the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Evening: Dinner at Joe T. Garcia’s for authentic Tex-Mex, followed by line dancing at Billy Bob’s Texas.

Day 4: Nature Day
