We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Kent and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
My friends, family, & art community constantly inspire me!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I just started out with art prints and original canvas pieces but now make a verity of things like stickers, keychains, tote bags. I honestly can’t help but make things I also want. I love to make people smile and feel joy from my work. Colorful, bright, and joyous would be the words I choose to describe my style of art.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love spending time in relaxing and beautiful places. The Norton Art gallery is one of my favorites inside and out. You can walk around the art gallery inside or enjoy a stroll in the beautiful flower garden outside. They also host movie night with food truck every now and then.
My favorite place to eat is a good truck and believe me it is well worth hunting down. They have Hawaiian cuisine and their trio plate is literally the best meal you’ll have! But if your want seafood I’d highly recommend Marilynn’s Place they have delicious shrimp poboys.
I’m not a huge bar goer but when I go out I enjoy going to bears and Seventh Tap. They are both great places to relax and spend some time with friends!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I was a kid my grandmother always was my biggest fan, she always inspired me and encouraged me in every way possible to continue to create. I have tried to carry on with making in anyway possible even if it’s just something small.
I’m always greatly motivated by the amazing talented friends I’ve made in my city and also online.
When I first decided to start making art to sell I was given the opportunity by a great friend of mine named Caitlin to join in a local group of artists who had local markets and shows that gave us all the opportunity to sell our work. Once I found my people I couldn’t help but want to continue to make more and more things.
