We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Hughes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
When I was younger and healing from my past, I reached out in all directions for help – counselors, mentors, books, podcasts, you name it! So I wanted to create a hub for women to find all of these things, as well as community, so that they feel equipped to live out their purpose with confidence and all the tools they need!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a podcast/YouTube show called By Words that’s all about faith, personal development, and everything in between! We’re starting conversations and sharing stories to equip women for purposeful living – at home, in relationships, at work, and in the world. This is the show for women who are ready to get real, kick fear to the curb, break up with the hustle, and say goodbye to the lies that keep us from living life to the full. We believe that embracing our stories brings hope, healing, and purpose to the process. And sharing our stories helps others do the same.

It may seem different than the other personal development resources out there, but I believe in the power of vulnerability and sharing from the middle of the process instead of striving for perfection. I’ve had such good feedback and it makes me excited that more and more women are discovering a different way to build their lives and businesses than the usual hustle culture and comparison!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love spending time at Summer Moon, my favorite coffee shop! I also enjoy spending time in Bishop Arts District, eating at Beto & Son in Trinity Grove (you MUST get a liquid nitrogen margarita!), and listening to live music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my husband, Christopher, for always supporting my dreams and ideas!
