Meet Hanane (Tina) Solorio | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hanane (Tina) Solorio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hanane (Tina), we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was, I have an expensive hobby I should try and make some money to support this hobby. That is pretty much the thought that went into it. Besides the fact that my husband had already created an LLC, so we just added a DBA to that company that was already created.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m going to perfectly honest I don’t know what would set me apart from other photographers; other than the fact that I will be honest, I won’t say I can do something unless I have actually done it. How did I get here?
My mother gave me my first camera when I was I guess around 13 yrs old when I started going on band trips, so I could document my adventures with band, and with theater that I was also in, creativity has always been in my life.
Lessons I’ve learned, you don’t need the best camera best lens, best tripod etc. to get the job done. If you’re starting out and have a camera, learn EVERYTHING you can about THAT camera, when you have done that, then you can move on to a new one. I have vintage Brownie Hawkeye film cameras that I shoot with and I took time to learn how to best use them.
What should the world know about my brand, me as a photographer? One that I don’t know everything, I am constantly learning and expanding on what I know and what I can do, I engage in opportunities to expand my creative horizon. I love setting up shoots with a theme behind them, If a customer has a story in their head that they want to shoot, I want to help them, make their dream shoot come to life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Coffee shops, we would visit all the great locally owned coffee shops and great farmers markets that we have in DFW.
Haraz, Arwa, White Rock Coffee, DeRa Coffee, Aussie Grind, We would probably hit up Saravana Bhavan for a veg brunch, Then hit up the Dallas Farmers Market and the little Market in Richardson. With a side trip to Half Price books and La Caista Coffee in their store.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate this shout out to my husband for believing in me. To my fellow photographers, who have always been my cheerleaders, and good friends who believe I can really do this.
