Meet Grace Hunter | Licensed Aesthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Grace Hunter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Grace, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The heart behind starting my business comes from personal experience and genuine passion. I’m a Licensed Aesthetician who began her journey in Fort Worth, Texas, and now proudly serves clients from my suite in North Richland Hills. My interest in skincare began early on—rooted in my own struggles with acne. As the youngest of three girls, I often felt alone in my skin journey, especially when my sisters had clear complexions and I didn’t. My parents didn’t quite know how to help, so I started troubleshooting my own skin issues, experimenting with routines, ingredients, and lifestyle changes. Over time, I not only learned what worked for me, but I also found that helping myself equipped me to help my friends with their skin concerns as well.
The early trial-and-error process, gave me a deep understanding and empathy for others dealing with acne and skin challenges. Helping someone gain confidence in their skin is one of the most rewarding feelings of what I do—there’s nothing like seeing someone look in the mirror and smile at what they see.
My mother also played a big role in my journey as well. She was a strong advocate for entrepreneurship and always dreamed of owning a business with my father. Her dreams sparked something in me. She poured so much love and belief into me, and I’ve always wanted to make her proud. In fact, she’s the one who came up with my business name “My Skin My Grace.” The moment she said it, it felt perfect. Yes, it’s a nod to skincare and my own name, Grace—but it’s also about giving ourselves grace. Society can be so critical of our appearance, especially as women, and so I wanted to create a space that promotes healing, confidence, and self-compassion across all ages and backgrounds.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart in this industry is the heart behind what I do. Yes, I provide skin treatments—but it’s so much deeper than that. I truly believe that through my hands and my energy, I help people heal from the inside out. I’m naturally a people person, and many of my clients have become like friends. Our sessions are more than just skincare—they’re moments of connection, release, and grounding.
Clients often come to me not just to improve their skin, but because they’re seeking a safe space. Sometimes they just need someone to listen, to talk through a life decision, or to simply breathe. That’s why I begin each facial with aromatherapy and calming words. I want each person to feel like this is their moment to fully pour into themselves—to leave the outside world behind and reconnect with their peace.
Getting to where I am today has been anything but easy. It has taken hard work, long hours, and lots of self-discipline. It’s not always the glamorous side people see on social media. It’s staying up late researching new treatments when all I want is to turn on Netflix and relax. It’s staying consistent when results don’t come quickly. The journey has definitely had its ups and downs, but one thing about me—I don’t give up. I keep pushing, I keep learning, and I always aim to grow.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned, especially this past year, is to always show up for myself. Losing my mother taught me the importance of following through, of honoring your word, and of living with intention. Now, as a mother myself, I’m even more committed to my purpose. When I look at my baby girl, I want her to know the world is truly hers—that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
My brand and my story are centered on giving people the space to just be. To rest. To recharge. To feel taken care of. I work with a lot of clients who are drained—mentally, emotionally, and physically—from work, kids, and the day-to-day demands of life. It means the world to me to be their safe haven. To help them feel seen, heard, and beautiful in every way. My Skin My Grace is more than skincare. It’s a reminder to give yourself grace, to show up for yourself, and to know that you are always worthy of care.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my best friend—who also happens to be my daughter’s godmother—comes to visit the DFW area, it’s always a good time. She visits often, and honestly, she’s usually more in-the-know than I am when it comes to the latest hot spots, so she always has a list ready. But I definitely have my go-to places that I have to take her to every time she’s in town.
First stop is always Clearfork in Fort Worth. I love the vibe there—it’s upscale but relaxed. One of my favorite spots to eat is Doc B’s. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the atmosphere is perfect for catching up. A few days later, we usually find ourselves back in Clearfork again, this time for a chill evening at Cru Wine Bar. Their charcuterie boards are amazing, and the wine selection never disappoints.
When we’re in the mood for something more casual, we love going to the movies, hanging out at Topgolf, or just going shopping. If we’re staying in for the night, you’ll find us sipping wine, maybe cooking a meal together—or placing a DoorDash order from Texas Chicken (their chicken and okra are so good!).
And of course, I can’t forget about the Fort Worth Stockyards. It’s a must every time she visits. Something always happens when we go—it’s like the Stockyards have a personality of their own. I won’t spill all the details, but just know, it’s always a wild and fun time.
While I used to spend more time in Dallas when I first moved here in 2018, I’ve found myself gravitating more toward Fort Worth lately. The Dallas vibe has shifted a bit, but Fort Worth is growing fast and full of hidden gems. I follow @thelovelistdfw on TikTok, and they’re constantly posting cool new spots to check out—I have a whole list saved, and I really need to get busy exploring!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, my mother. Before I became an Aesthetician, I was working as a Waffle House manager. It was a demanding job, and even though I kept pushing through, she could see the toll it was taking on me. I’ll never forget the day she called me out—not in a harsh way, but in a loving, honest way like only a mother can. She looked at me and said, “Change can be uncomfortable, but you deserve to be happy.” That conversation made me stop and really reflect on what Grace wanted. What made me happy? What did I want my future to look like? She pushed me to think bigger and reminded me that I have the right to pursue joy and purpose. That moment planted the seed for everything I’ve built since.
Next, I want to give credit to my aesthetician school. I went in nervous because I’d heard so many negative things, but I made a promise to myself: this experience will be what I make of it. I put my all into it and got so much in return—knowledge, growth, and meaningful relationships. One person who really stands out is my lead professor. She was incredibly kind and understanding. She knew I was juggling a 24-hour restaurant job while pursuing my passion, and on the days I came in exhausted, she never made me feel less than. Instead, she would take the time to sit side-by-side with me, patiently walking me through everything I needed to know. That kind of support made a lasting impact, and I still keep in touch with many of my instructors to this day—and yes, I even give them facials!
I also have to shout out my fiancé. He’s like my silent business partner. Every idea I have goes through him first, and he’s always there to help me bring it to life—whether that’s filming content, giving me honest feedback, or just encouraging me when I feel tired or unsure. His support is so solid, and I’m deeply grateful for it.
And finally, I thank God. There are times when I don’t understand everything that’s happening, but I’ve learned to trust the process and keep going. Every time I show up, even when it’s hard, I believe He’s guiding me and aligning me with the path I’m meant to walk.
