We had the good fortune of connecting with Gladys McClendon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gladys, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As professional dancers, the owners auditioned for a role for a Facebook commercial. They got the part and their scenes were included in the final edits of the commercial. Co-owner, Gladys McClendon, is the creative director of the Curvy Queenz of Dallas dance team, and diligently searched for an agent for her team with no success. Her friend, business partner and fellow dancer, Brittainye Wise would go on to motivate and encourage her to start her own agency, as she was already doing the work of an agent. Gladys has over 20 years experience in the entertainment industry and her dream has always been to provide opportunities to other gifted people. Premier Lighthouze was created to empower individuals to let their light shine and use their gifts in the industry.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Premier Lighthouze was created to meet a need in the industry and give talented people a chance to showcase their skills by working in the entertainment field. The owners have over four decades of combined business and entertainment expertise, having started working in their fields as teenagers! Empowerment is a word commonly used by these two amazing entrepreneurs and that’s just what they set out to do. Experience is not a requirement in order to be a part of this agency; a will to succeed, hard-work, commitment and coachability are a must however. We can work with all experience levels; we have small children, including babies as our clients and we specialize in educating you on how to utilize your gift and profit from it. Don’t be afraid to use what God gave you to make money, there’s actually work available for creative set design, makeup artists and even seamstresses! Although, being a talent agent is not an easy job; they’re licenses and permits and working with talent, directors, and many other people to make it a success. They’re long hours and last minute travel assignments, however passion drives our success. The biggest lessons thus far are good communication, consistency and unity are the secret ingredients to success. We walk the walk and talk the talk; we’re on a mission to use our gifts to empower the world. Each and every person has a gift God gave them, and here at Premier Lighthouze, we give you permission to use your gift and let it shine bright.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It would really depend on what they like doing and what they’re in the mood for. The Dallas metroplex is a wonderful place to live because it truly is something for everybody. When I travel, I try to eat at only local restaurants, visit the museums and art galleries, attend an event specific to the area and learn more about the culture of the area (what is this city known for?). There would be a day of amusement parks; Six Flags, Great Wolf Lodge, Hurricane Harbor. Nightlife would be Deep Ellum. I enjoy nature, so the Dallas Arboretum, Fort Worth Water Gardens, or Lake Ray Hubbard

Eating and live entertainment are excellent social events Texas Live!, City Night KTV Bar, Attache Cigar Lounge

Trailrides, festivals, sporting events and concerts are a consistency in Dallas

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
