We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriella Lugo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gabriella, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have always enjoyed taking photos. Growing up, I remember multiple Christmases I would beg my parents to buy me a camera. In 2015, I started taking photos as a hobby and to make a little bit of extra money. But really, the driving force behind my business is my family. My husband and I found ourselves in a tight spot after having our son in 2019. My husband suggested I try taking up photos as an extra income, and the rest is history.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Like any career, there have been some really cool moments, but also moments that I felt overwhelmed and questioned if I wanted to keep pursuing photography, but at the end of the day, there isn’t anything else I want to do. Learning my style has been a trial and error process– I feel every few months, my style tends to change, but if I wasn’t evolving as an artist, it would always stay the same. What sets me apart from others, is I always strive to build relationships with my clients. I stay in touch, keep conversation, and always strive to capture moments over poses.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I feel like you can’t come to the area and not visit a sporting event! No matter the time of year, there is always something to do! Klyde Warren Park is one of my favorite places to visit on the weekends!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my husband. For always putting my business and career before anything. He has always been my #1 supporter.
