We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriella Carias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriella, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is to stay consistent. No matter what just do it. Tired, depressed, whatever your circumstance may be keep going. People are always watching and will admire that about you. When you’re consistent you see/get better results. If you’re inconsistent it will reflect in your business and it’s easy for potential and returning clients to see that.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Gabriella Carias, many know me by Glammed by Gabby. This was a name I thought of and came up with when I was in high school due to my passion for the beauty industry. What sets me apart from other stylists is my professionalism, communication, neatness, personality, and mentality. I take pride in my work and my clients compliment me all the time on these things and it plays a major role in my life as being a stylist. One of my biggest milestones in my career would be when I did Tamar Braxton’s hair. That was insane for me because I love Tamar, I used to blast her album everyday in middle school so to do her hair , ME?!!? That’s insane not because I didn’t believe in myself but because out of everyone she picked me! I got to where I am today by doing my research, staying consistent, and by creating a plan! This was definitely not an easy journey for me and I don’t feel like it is for anyone. Being an entrepreneur seems so free and so easy but it isn’t. A 9-5 you can clock out and go home but when you’re an entrepreneur you’re on the clock even when you’re not. It has its challenges but if I could do it differently I wouldn’t. I overcome some of the challenges sent my way by remaining calm and level headed in situations, making sure on my off days I do things for myself such as self care, figuring out strategies to navigate through any issues. A valuable lesson I’ve learned along the way is be firm on your rules, rather if it’s friends/family or a client you may not know. Being a entrepreneur has helped me learn to express myself in many different ways and has taught me so much just about life. What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is this is just the beginning, I have a lot in store and a lot that I’m working on. I’m only going to elevate. Please don’t be afraid to start where you are because that’s how I got to where I am and I’m not done yet!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love traveling out of the country, especially to islands. So far though my favorite place out of the country is Jamaica. It’s so beautiful I love the energy, the vibes are amazing. In my opinion a fun trip isn’t about where you go it’s about who you go with and that will determine the fun. I’m a very spontaneous person so sometimes I may plan things out and sometimes I like ti just be random.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God, My mom, my sister, my brothers, my boyfriend, my uncle Dre, my entire family in general and my friends deserve so much recognition in my story of success!!! It’s so many times where they’re kind and encouraging words have pushed me to my full potential even if at times I felt like I couldn’t see things for me they always uplifted me and let me know that they see these things for me. I’m very thankful for that because everyone doesn’t have that push!!
