We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriel Araujo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriel, what do you attribute your success to?
Once I understood that each house is a temple that carries the history of its owner, I focused on making dreams come true. Today I take great pleasure in leaving my art scattered around these sacred temples where entire families share unique moments. Having this understanding has led me to get to know the intimacy of each client who hires my services. This attracts success!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m not in this game for the money. I’m here to color the world! I stand out because I listen to each client’s needs and adapt to their desires. It’s no use just selling. I don’t sell projects. I sell a desire projected into the future. This changed my mind about business and got me to where I am today. My tip for anyone starting out is: listen to your heart and don’t try to prove anything to anyone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I confess that I haven’t been a night owl in recent years. I’m almost 40 and have a precious son. Today I try to be close to my family as much as I can when I’m not working. My priority is to create moments for the rest of my life. That’s priceless. But I could take a friend to downtown Dallas without any problem. We live in a big city that has everything.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate it to the person who has supported me most throughout this journey: my wife! After almost 8 years of living as a simple wall painter, she gave me the strength to drop everything and dive into the world of plastering. We’ve had almost 20 years of love and partnership, which were crowned with the birth of our son in 2023. Everything I do is with them in mind and for them!
