We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabi Sperry, CKD, CAPS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabi, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
After a traumatic car accident that rendered me disabled for 2,5 years I prayed for complete healing, to be able to work again in a career that I am in love with. When God miraculously healed me, I formed new habits where all I wanted was to work as hard I physically and mentally could, happily sacrificing sleep, spending more time working than with my family and taking myself to levels that I had never achieved prior to my car accident. I know what it feels like to lose everything and so I work each day as though it could very well be my last. My habits turned into an unquenchable fire where all I want to do is Honor God, Grit and Grind, to be able to provide for my family, my Ohana.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business evolves around designing Dream Homes for my clients. I offer complimentary consultations where we begin the detailed process. I specialize in Complete Home Remodels, Additions, Kitchen & Bath Design, small projects such as simple updates and Aging in Place Design-Universal Design. Since 1998 I have fine-tuned my craft to ensure my clients are able to visualize the beautiful potential their home offers and become excited about moving forward with their valuable investment. I pour perfect effort into each project, each detail and every family that I am privileged to work with. Ever since I recovered from my car accident injuries, I value and appreciate every single client more than I ever did before. It is an absolute gift to be able to do what I love every single day, it is not a “job” it was my childhood dream that I actually get to live out every single day. There is joy in that.
I have learned that when I receive a “no” it drives me to work harder to get to my next “yes” Positivity is critical in the construction industry and so is being able to provide Complete Project Management with a top notch Team who goes above and beyond in quality and customer service.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a very simple and quiet person, my ideal “fun time” is going out to dinner then going home to our Media Room and watching movies. I love food, so my favorite restaurants are Koshi Sushi in McKinney and Hutchins BBQ – those two places are the most consistent with the quality and taste of their food. My husband is also an amazing Chef, so a wonderful day would consist of him cooking up 5 course meals, sitting around the table and watching Football. I also like talking long walks around our beautiful community Lakewood at Brookhollow in Prosper Texas while our boys throw the Football. Quality love time is the most important thing for me, especially after realizing how valuable life truly is.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my husband Kevin Sperry, for being the most amazing Stay at Home Papa. He allows me to fully focus on my career while he takes care of everything else. There is not one thing I have to worry about with our home or our kids including their school, nutrition, training and sports. He is also a very talented Chef who honors us with delicious meals and top notch nutrition. I would also like to give a shout out to my partners at DFW Improved, I am very blessed with such a talented team of professionals who convert my vision into such a beautiful reality for my clients.
