We had the good fortune of connecting with Frankie Ortiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frankie, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Well that’s a question I’ve been waiting to answer for a good while… I mixed pleasure with business…Partied everyday and got so behind on my work that it was impossible to catch up.. I let my out of control addiction get the best of me and completely took over my life….Biggest Mistake I could ever make!!! It not only caused me to lose everything I’ve worked for but also my reputation, credibility, and my relationship with alot of really awesome people in the music industry…I apologize to everyone from deep down within my soul All because of some bad decisions that I made.. I’ll never go down that road again. Lesson Learned… The Future Is Bright – The ReUp Agency will take place of A2B from here on out.. Despite the pandemic I will continue to build and most importantly repair my relationship with those I let down…

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
A2B Booking Agency was my baby….Starting from absolutely nothing and turning into a pretty well known company that bands and venues across the country were very familiar with. It grew very fast …. In less than 6 months A2B was working with over 50 bands planning and routing tours all over Texas and the West Coast… A2B took a hard hit and sadly my drug addiction took everything we had worked for…Drugs became more of a priority……. so I had to get help..I had no other option. I wasnt myself anymore… So…………..I had to go clean up…. I spent time in a West Texas Rehab which I’ll never forget…..The hardest challenge I’ve faced to date was 90 plus days detoxing and finding myself again….It was torture as my body went through withdrawals and the cold sweat leaving my body were the demons being released who once had total control over me… It wasn’t easy, but with support from my loved ones I was able to do it and I’m glad I realized my downfall before it was too late and lost everyone close to me or even died due to major stupidity… Breathe………. A year later, here I am…Clean and Sober…. Only now with a better grasp on life and the importance of maintaing friendship/relationships with everyone that helped us get to where we once were…. We will get there again… Now Under a new name and a clean slate… The ReUp Agency… We are a fully staffed tour booking agency for bands wanting to get on the road and build their fanbase …We work with reputable venues all over the country and bands of all genres.. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If the Pandemic wasn’t a factor?!?! Definitely Deep Ellum!!!! AM wakeup for some greasy tacos from a roach coach so we can keep it REAL….yes I’m very Mexican if you cant tell…. Walk around and look for a tattoo shop to get a milestone piece done maybe….if everyone’s down… Lunch Time —- Where’s that roach coach at?? Go back to the room and Rest Up for a wild night of live music and my favorite venue The Curtain Club RIP 💔
