We had the good fortune of connecting with Francisco Alejandro Jimenez Andrade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Francisco Alejandro, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I worked for big companies and noticed that the quality wasn’t as high as I thought it could be, that’s when I decided in opening a family owned business so I could personally be able to take care of my customers and employees. While still offering a high quality craftsmanship, and even when my company grew I was alwasy on the field overseeing my jobs.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
AJ construction is a family owned business dedicated to residential and commercial water damage dry out and restoration. We have been in this industry for 6 years as well as 14 years in general construction, at the same time we also offer faux paint and Venetian plaster.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take him to the stockyards for some drinks. A nice bike ride along the Trinity river and if we’re lucky we’d attend a folkloric dance presentation where my daughter takes apart of.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well the most important people that need a recognition in my story are my family (wife and kids) because they always support me on my risky decisions
