We had the good fortune of connecting with Fran and Brian Carson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fran and Brian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Brian grew up beside his father in the construction industry. His father was a carpenter and Brian began learning the construction trades at a young age. He worked in the construction field for years, but was never completely satisfied. Something was missing. We spent a few years talking threw different ideas, but kept coming back to what we felt we were destined to do. So, we set fear aside and K&H Painting and Construction was born.

What should our readers know about your business?
K&H Painting is a family owned business. We are actually the ones who should NOT be where we are today. We should have been a statistic. We became parents when we were just teenagers. One day we were kids and the next day we were forced to be an adult. We never allowed our situation to be an excuse. Instead we used our situation to push us to become the best that we could be. We had two little girls who depended on us. Two little girls who were watching and learning from us. If we failed in our business, we would have failed them as parents. Our vision is to continue to grow K&H Painting and Construction that will ultimately be passed down to our children. Paving the way for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

One thing that sets us apart from other companies is our commitment to our quality of work. We don’t just send a paint crew out to complete the job. Each job is inspected before it is marked as completed. If it does not meet K&H Painting and Construction standards, we are not done and we go back to work.

We provide our customers with quality work performed with quality supplies. We do not believe in short cuts. Every job is unique and it is our duty to bring our customers vision to life. Our mission is to give our customers a home that has a look and feel that is all their own. One that sets them apart from every other house on their street.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You cannot come to Texas without eating Tex Mex. It is our signature dish of Texas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If we think about all of the people throughout our lives that have contributed to our success, the list would go on and on and on. When you surround yourself with the right people, nothing but success and good things can come from it. There are a few that stand out though. First, would be Brian’s dad Jay. He laid the foundation for the man Brian is today. Taught him to value quality over quantity and instilled the work ethic that Brian still lives by today. He was the role model for all things K&H Painting.
Next would be our two girls (Krystal and Haley). They are our why. As parents, we have the greatest responsibility in the world. We have been blessed with our biggest cheerleaders, but also our biggest accountability partners. They push us to reach our goals and to never give up.
