Meet Flow-N-Nature | Yoga Instructors building a Yoga community in Oakcliff
We had the good fortune of connecting with Flow-N-Nature and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Flow-N-Nature, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing about the yoga industry that outsiders are unaware of is that we have a large community of yoga teachers in Texas or another state that supports each other no matter what. We lean on each other for advice, and to meet up at retreats to reconnect and expand our knowledge. Depending on where you received your certification, you get connected with so many other instructors worldwide and learn so much from each other. It’s always good to keep in touch with everyone. For instance, a couple of us who completed our YTT together still do monthly meetups and we also flow together every now and then. A lot of outsiders don’t realize how close the Yoga Teacher community is, and every time we have the opportunity to get together, it’s like a giant family affair.
What should our readers know about your business?
The owner of Kosmic Tea, learned to heal and live her life in a higher vibration through Tea and Yoga, with her experiencing and knowing the importance of the two the ideal of Flow-n-Nature manifested. Flow-N-Nature was created to bring love, light and a space for individuals to come relax and release any tension or unnecessary energy. What sets us apart is that we are building a yoga community in an area that is rapidly growing, yoga classes can be expensive, but we wanted to create an affordable experience that any and everyone could practice no matter their level, size, gender, or race and we wanted this space to be in Oakcliff specifically in Nature. We have had a few proud moments in our first 4 months, we’ve have had people of all ages express how it helped them physically, mentally and spiritually, we have had people cry expressing gratitude of feeling accepted in our space. The amount of growth we have seen in 4 months have also made us proud and motivated us to keep going and growing. Flow-N-Nature was not as difficult to start due to it being apart of the Kosmic Tea brand, they go hand and hand. Building a yoga community was always the plan, so just knowing it was suppose to happen made it easier. We just want everyone to know that Flow-N-Nature is a space for everyone and If you are ever in the Oakcliff area make sure to grab some Tea and flow with us every Sunday at 10am, in Oakcliff Founders Park (facing the skyline) we cannot wait to meet you!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There is so much to do in the DFW area. The first thing we would do is take our friends to the Bishop Arts area. Bishop Arts has grown, and there is so much to do whether you are shopping, eating, or just wanting to grab a quick drink, they have it all. The second part of our itinerary is to check out some museums downtown, and Klyde Warren on a Saturday afternoon/evening. Up north, we have Legacy West which is always a good time if you’re looking to escape the big city restaurants, and you’re looking for a more relaxed suburban hangout.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First things first we would like to shout out our Flowies (class participants), without them showing up for themselves on their mats every Sunday this wouldn’t be Possible, their encouraging words, love and support is greatly appreciated. Secondly, Our Family and Friends who have supported us every step of the way. Last but definitely not least the Flow-N-Nature Team; Autumn Phillips (Yoga Director), Elyse Baksh (Yoga Instructor), Brooke Roshell (Yoga Instructor), Dulani Stephens(Yoga Instructor), Taylor Wesley(Yoga Instructor) and Angelyn Hinze (Yoga Instructor). Our instructors have helped us out so much with Flow N Nature, We honestly couldn’t do it without our team!
