Meet Fayez Nowar | DFW Food Blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Fayez Nowar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fayez, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think the main reason my food blog has done well is that I’ve always kept it honest. From day one, I told myself I’d only share real opinions on the places I have tried. There’s so much going on online that’s paid for or overly polished, and I think people are just looking for something genuine.
Another big part of my blog’s growth has been the way I connect with different people. Given that I speak Arabic, English, and Spanish, I’ve been able to reach a certain audience. I’ve had conversations with people from all over, and it’s opened my eyes to how powerful food can be. It’s incredible to see how something as simple as a meal can allow me to develop deeper conversations.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What makes my page different is that I’m not trying to be perfect. I want to keep being honest. I share what I think, even if something isn’t amazing, and I think people appreciate that kind of honesty.
I also try to use my blog to highlight different cultures and stories, especially since I come from a Palestinian and Jordanian background. I speak Arabic, English, and Spanish, so I’ve been able to connect with people from all over the world, which has been one of the most rewarding parts of this whole experience.
I started the blog while being a full-time college student, working as a medical assistant, helping at my family’s pizzeria, and just trying to keep up with day-to-day activities. There were times that would be tough and when I wasn’t growing fast enough, but I stayed consistent with it. I tried to keep learning and focused on creating content that felt personable.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me or my blog, it’s that I genuinely care. I really care about supporting local businesses and being there for individuals that need it the most.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A full DFW itinerary with me would include:
*A day at The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, walking around and appreciating nature
*Eating at Terry Black’s or Panther City BBQ for amazing BBQ
*Getting a sweet treat at Emporium Pies or at Sugar Pine Creamery
*Walking around Arbor Hills
*Going to Andretti for indoor karting
*Exploring the different malls DFW has to offer
*Going to the Reunion Tower at night for the amazing views

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I had to give credit to anyone for where I am today, it would definitely be my parents. They both immigrated from Jordan and Palestine, and their stories alone have always pushed me to work hard and stay motivated. They’ve supported me from day one, from choosing what to study, changing directions, or even starting something unexpected like a food blog.
What I appreciate is that they never pressured me to follow a specific path. They let me figure things out for myself and encouraged me to go after what I actually care about. When I decided to double major or put more time into growing my blog, they were right there cheering me on. Even during moments when I wasn’t sure what I was doing, they believed in me. They’ve passed on so many values that shape who I am and the person I have become throughout the years. I’m super grateful to have them in my life, and I know a lot of what I’ve been able to do is because of their support and love.
