We had the good fortune of connecting with Faith Kiger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Faith, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe the most important factor of success in my business is my passion for what I do.

I have known I wanted to work in the wedding industry since I was 10 years old. I would buy all the wedding books and magazines to “study up” thinking one day I would become a wedding planner. Being the child of music ministry parents, I grew up attending a LOT of weddings at my church and I loved every minute of it!!

I have always had a deep passion for music, as well. I am the youngest of 7 children in a very musical family. I was always the girl making mixed CDs for my friends and making banger playlists for the parties. I earned my music degree from the Dallas Baptist University and I also perform live music at weddings.

It is also important to have a passion for people! I love making connections with brides, and it is my honor to help make their dreams come true on their wedding day. Being a female DJ is a huge plus when it comes to connecting with my brides because I have been a bride myself! I relate to the stresses and feelings that come with planning the perfect day, and I excel at putting my clients at ease. The fun part is that after working for months, when the big day finally comes, I feel like I get to go to my friend’s wedding today!!

I love what I do! I love being the life of the party and getting a front row seat for the best day of my couples lives. This is my dream job and my passion is my driving force!

What should our readers know about your business?
Blonde Beats Entertainment is a one woman show – I am the brand! Serving DFW and surrounding areas. I am the DJ, MC, and I bring the party with me! Something that sets my brand apart from other DJ companies (besides the fact that I am a chick) is that I offer live music in my wedding packages. I play piano, ukulele, and I sing fun poppy love songs. This is a super fun way to make your reception unique and enjoyable for guests.

I am proud of the challenges that I overcame to start this dream business. I was teaching music at a public school when I decided that I wanted to change career paths and be a DJ. I started teaching piano and voice lessons to my students in the evenings after school to earn extra cash for the biz, and I trained with my brother (who is also a DJ) every weekend. It was hard to juggle all the things and there were times that I was extremely burnt out, but it was so worth it. I would encourage any readers that if there is something that you are passionate about, start the grind, work hard, and get creative, you can do whatever you want!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My husband and I used to live on the edge of Downtown Dallas! Here are 3 things that we loved!

#1. Klyde Warren Park. It is a very chill atmosphere, but there are always fun events and happenings going on there. Plus amazing food trucks and tons of cute dogs!!

#2. Howard Wang’s Uptown (Lemon Ave). Best Chinese food!!

#3. The Dallas Cookie Dough Company (Forest Ln). Great edible cookie dough place 🙂

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shout out to my brother, mentor, and friend, Danny. Thank you for letting me tag along and train with you in the early days. Thank you for never being too busy for me and answering your phone every time I call with questions or advice. Thank you for your support and encouragement from the beginning.
