We had the good fortune of connecting with Eva Constance and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eva, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursue an artistic career because it’s something that I wanted to do since I was very young. I started singing in the choir at age 6 or 7 and by age 12 I started writing my own music. I have always had a love for music and that will never change. I use my creative channels to express my emotions because I have a hard time explaining them in other ways. My birth name, Chanteuse, means singer in French so once I knew that, I knew I was destined to be that and be successful in the music industry.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a musical artist who records and writes my own music. I started writing music by age 12 and have not stopped since. I have about 500 songs written since the age of 12 and I am highly proud that some of that music has been recorded and released! It all started after I was added to my grandmother’s church choir as a young child. At first, I didn’t enjoy the choir. I dreaded going. Due to attending over time, I fell for music and loved it ever since. I’ve been through a lot in elementary and middle school. I was bullied a lot and didn’t know how to handle the pressure of it all. I was a loner and mostly stayed to myself. I had maybe two or three friends at a time but later on I didn’t have many left. Music was the one thing that helped me stay out together during those times. Also a lot of my music came from my own experiences with various things and that also helped me to manage it all. I learned that music is a universal healer of many issues in my life and it can help others too. This is one of the reasons why I write music and share it to the world. I have stories and experiences I want to share with the world so that one person does not feel like they are alone. I want people to know that I want to share my story through the music that I make to help the world feel a little closer to each other. Some people might think they are dealing with a certain issue alone, that no one else has been through it, but I want my music to let others know through my stories, that I was in that certain situation too and you can release yourself from whatever issue that is.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place I would take a friend or family member is the Pompano beach! I love the area. I am in the vicinity of this beach so it’s always a go-to for me. I love the shops by the beach and the restaurants as well! It’s always entertaining with live music and performers at some of the open restaurants by the sea.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout Aaliyah, family, close friends, my grandmother and my fans. Aaliyah was the person who opened my eyes as a child to the music industry and what opportunities I could have just as she did. I also would like to thank my grandmother because she was the other person in my life that really embedded this dream into my head without realizing it. She had me join the church choir at age 6 or 7 to start singing music. By her doing this, I was able to gain the musical mind of an artist and she what my life could be. It also made me realize later in life that my birth name was my destiny. I want to thank my family and friends for supporting me with my music as well as my fans because they help me build my dream to reality.
