Meet Erin Younger | Wedding Coordinator & Event Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Younger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create something that was not only enjoyable for myself for but helpful for others. I am a future bride myself, so I totally get how frustrating the whole process can be. I also was done with working the corporate lifestyle, so I knew I had to make a change somehow.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that I am driven to help brides have the best day of their dreams without price gauging them. The wedding industry is filled with so many different vendors and creatives and you really have to connect with the right companies to fulfill the clients needs.
There are lots of new challenges with each event. I learn from every wedding I plan and coordinate and that is something I am super grateful for! That is what I love about events. There is never a stopping point of where you learn and grow. At each wedding you could be working with someone new and create new connections and build your network for your clients.
I got to where I am today by having a 5-10 year goal for my family and knowing that what I am doing full time right now isn’t going to be my forever job. My drive and passion for events only grows each time I have a new client and I love being able to be their support system/back bone through it all!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My first go to place to eat would be Palios. It is so simple yet so good!! A good hang out place would be the grandscape. It it so easy to waste some time over there and go walk around all of the shops! There is a bar in the grandscape that I love as well called The Puttery. Its a mini-putt putt course mixed with a restaurant and a bar. Such a fun time!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My big shoutout is to my good friend and colleague Hannah Pettigrew with Something Borrowed Event co. We met a little over a year ago and not only became such good friends but also she mentored and helped me start my business. She was so willing to answer any questions I had and talk through difficult situations with me!
