We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Gerner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Consistency, grit and belief – these three traits are the essential ingredients to success in any business venture or life endeavor. I have learned first-hand that by refusing to give up despite obstacles, pushing through roadblocks with determination and trusting in yourself fully can ultimately lead you towards the future you desire!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hi! I am Erin Gerner, a wife, mom to 2 amazing daughters and former lawyer turned life coach for women in the law. My legal journey has been anything but typical and I would not have it any other way. I headed to law school directly from college becoming the first lawyer in my family. After graduating at the top of my class, taking a big law position, and later going in-house, I found myself drowning in the high pressure, constant hustle to burn out mentality, lack of flexibility environment. As a young mom to a toddler who saw the nanny more than she saw me, I was burnt out, unhappy, and suffering from chronic anxiety. The career and life I had built (and thought I wanted) became one I dreaded. I eventually made the bold decision to walk away from it all – placing faith instead on finding happiness while still achieving success. In my heart I knew there had to be a better way. I created Erin Gerner Coaching to provide to others what I desperately needed in my years of practice. Through a decade-long journey of self-discovery and investing in coaching, I have developed the tools to help women break free from toxic legal narratives. Erin Gerner Coaching shows my fellow sisters in the law that they are not alone and provides them with the support and tools they need to get back in the driver’s seat of their lives. By empowering my clients to form boundaries based on values, eliminate overwhelm and embrace the imperfect, they are creating successful lives according to their own terms.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would walk around White Rock Lake. Have a dirty martini at Hudson House. And shop at Northpark.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am today without taking the first step into entrepreneurship with a social selling company called Scout & Cellar. An opportunity like Scout & Cellar gives ordinary people the opportunity to do extraordinary things. It was during those years of building a business from scratch with zero experience, that I discovered what I was made of and what I wanted my life to look like. That opportunity empowered me to be fearless and fully step into my calling,
