We had the good fortune of connecting with Ericka Ledferd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ericka, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Yes, and it gives me some hope and peace of mind when I’m in front of uncertainty. It’s by Richard Feynman, he once said “I can live with doubt, and uncertainty, and not knowing. I think it’s much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong.” His quote is an interesting collection of thoughtful words about a situation in which something is not known. I apply it to life as in seeing problems as possibilities and as a normal state of being where all of the biggest discoveries and progressive ideas have had their beginnings. For example, our current new normal has many challenges. However, it is bringing opportunities for improvement because we have no guarantee about the future, but we exist in the hope of something better. We are living in uncertain times, and we must turn toward hope and peace of mind as if it is the sun shining on possibilities.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Ledferd PR wants to handle your current or future opportunities and better the outcomes for your business or your personal life. We provide public relations services and strategies by customizing our approach to your individual needs. The idea is to handle public relations services designed for your unique needs.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my best friend to Thursdays on Tap at the Perot. This program is for ages 21+, so it is the perfect opportunity to experience this fantastic museum without kids, which there is nothing wrong with kids, I love them and have three of my own, but Thursday nights at the Perot belong to the adults.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dr. Candice Bledsoe, and her sharing stories with The Collective. Every month, the women of The Collective meet in a reading room on SMU’s campus to tell stories. You find artists, activists, teachers, students, mothers, and scholars. We gather together to exercise the power of giving our stories a platform, and we create connections based on both shared and unshared experiences.
