We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Seall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eric, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve been fascinated music ever since I was a kid. When I discovered dubstep in 8th grade and then started experimenting with music production, I knew from that point it was what I wanted to do as a career!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My style of dubstep is unique in that it combines melodic elements with heavier elements – something not many other artists in the field are doing. Developing my style took many years because early on I was not skilled enough to create the music I envisioned in my head. There were definitely moments where I was frustrated and felt like giving up, but just before I’d hit that point it seemed like a big opportunity would show up. For example, I was nearing completion in college a couple years ago and had to decide If I was going to pursue music production or securing a computer science job right around the time COVID hit. I was leaning toward putting music aside for a while and focusing more on computer science, and that’s right when I was reached out to by Jake Bernstein, an agent with United Talent Agency.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m not super knowledgeable about the immediate area because I’m not super adventurous, but I’d definitely have to take them to Fireside Pies! I’ve been there a couple times with my wife and they have fantastic pizza!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely like to recognize my parents for investing in my love for music throughout my childhood and adolescence!
