We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Aaberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eric, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My name is Eric Aaberg, and I’m the CEO & Photographer of Eric Aaberg Photography. I created my business back in 2020, driven by a combination of passion, vision, and a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of photography. The journey to establishing my own brand was fueled by a few key thoughts and realizations.
Photography, for me, has always been more than just capturing images; it’s about telling stories, evoking emotions, and preserving fleeting moments. This passion, coupled with the realization that there was a significant demand for a more story-driven, emotional approach to photography, propelled me to venture into creating my own business. My vision was clear: to offer unique photography services that went beyond the conventional, to create a brand that resonated with the depth and authenticity of real-life stories.
The decision to start my own business was also driven by the desire for independence and creativity that comes with being your own boss. I longed for the freedom to make my own decisions, to explore my creativity without constraints, and to build something from the ground up that truly reflected my values and vision. With a background in marketing, I felt uniquely equipped to navigate the competitive landscape of the photography business. My education was not just a collection of theories but a practical toolkit that would enhance my business acumen. This blend of passion, skill, and strategic planning laid the foundation for what Eric Aaberg Photography is today.
What should our readers know about your business?
Eric Aaberg Photography is more than just a photography business; it’s a personal mission to capture life’s moments in a way that resonates with authenticity and artistic integrity. What sets us apart is our commitment to storytelling through our lens. We don’t just take pictures; we craft visual narratives that reflect the unique essence of each subject, be it a person, a landscape, or a fleeting moment. Our focus is on creating images that aren’t just seen but felt, making every photo session a deeply personal and memorable experience.
I am particularly proud of the personalized approach we take with every project. Whether it’s a wedding, a family portrait, or a corporate event, we strive to understand our clients’ stories and visions. This approach has not only led to a growing portfolio of diverse and meaningful work but has also fostered lasting relationships with our clients.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my go-to spots in Dallas include Cidercade, an arcade serving hard-apple cider, Sweet Hut in Plano for a sweet mid-day treat, Addison Circle to walk around the park, Fort Worth for the Stockyards, and Legacy West for ending the night with a nice dinner.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
