We had the good fortune of connecting with Elon Saré Lockings and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elon Saré, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and in the most unusual way. My parents raised me to figure out everything on my own which in turn has made me fiercely independent. I have always been in charge of my own life and let me be honest, that means a lot of mistakes. But those mistakes are really just life lessons learned the hard way. Now that I am an adult I appreciate each experience because I have grown so much from them all. I know that I can face any obstacle and overcome it!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been a flight attendant for the last seven years and I consider it to be one of my best life decisions. I have been blessed to see thirty-seven countries between work and leisure travel. Exploring the world literally feeds my soul. Life is so short and precious so I want to take full advantage of everything it has to offer while I can enjoy it. I know its very cliche to say, but my primary goal is to live my life to the fullest!
Travel aside, the pandemic gave me the opportunity to pursue a passion that I had been putting off for far too long, which was esthetics. I love all things pampering and relaxation so one of my biggest goals was to establish my own spa. This endeavor is still in the making and the biggest obstacle has been my fear of failure. The imposter syndrome has been extremely heavy on me. But I cannot allow those thoughts and feelings to hold me back. I have been holding myself accountable with mental checks and creating attainable goals to ensure that I make the dream that I’ve had for so long come true.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is easy because a large part of my social media is all about where to go and what to do! I am new to Dallas and have so many sights unseen but a hefty list to conquer. 1: The Adolphus Hotel is a favorite for accommodations and I highly recommend it for those visiting. First up will definitely be a gondola ride to Monaco in Las Colinas. Who doesn’t want to arrive to a restaurant by boat, such a cool concept!
2: Once again, relaxation is always a win so Spa Castle for a day full of serenity is exactly what we deserve because, life. It is a day spa with multiple rooms that have different benefits and they offer services like massages and facials.
3: Water is my happy place so me and my bestie would take a drive to Prairie Creek Park. They have a nice waterfall.
4: Deep Ellum is one of the best places in Dallas for live music. Bar hopping and checking out different music.
5. I live for brunch and if their are craft cocktails involved then extra bonus points. Some of my favorite brunch eateries are: Beto and Sons, Ebb and Flow, Kitchen and Cocktails, and Breadwinners Cafe.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will forever and always give credit to my aunt. She has always been my inspiration in more ways than one. But mostly for being travel goals! As a kid, I would love to hear about her new destinations and just dream about all of the places I’d go when I grew up. The exposure that was given to me and my cousins by her propelled me into a life thats constantly searching for the next destination.
