We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizebeth Langston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizebeth, how do you define success?
In my book, success can look like many different things, but the underlying principle remains the same. To achieve success, one must set a goal for oneself – a goal that is not easy, yet not unreasonable or unattainable. Achieving that goal, even exceeding your own expectations for yourself, is what I would define as success. It matters not what anyone in the lane next to you is doing, and it doesn’t matter what your critics, nor your supporters think. Success is a deeply personal principle, and is achieved through self determination and growth.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business was born out of an observance of attorneys and law firms as they struggled to fill in the gaps between efficient staffing and effective representation. As I encountered some of the brightest and most taxed legal minds in the area, I noticed a commonality – their time and talents were being wasted on redundant tasks and a lack of business development strategy. I set out to create a business which could partner with law practices of all sorts to help them help their clients; through integrated case management services, educational services and performance guidance, and strategic planning.

While starting this business has not been completely without challenges, it has been easier than I originally anticipated. When difficulties arise, I find one of two strategies normally works depending on the urgency – either I don’t sleep until the task is done, or, I revisit the task in the following week. This can take an extreme amount finesse and balance in knowing when to hold em/when to fold em, but, I have come to the conclusion that for me – if it can’t be solved immediately, there’s generally a better solution waiting for me to stop dwelling and think with a clear head.

Along the way, I have learned that going into business for yourself means learning to never take things personally. I walk into a sales meeting understanding that I have to choose the right client’s for my business just as much as they have to choose the right services for theirs. If it’s not a good fit, there is no sense in forcing it or trying to understand what went wrong. It may not have been the right time or the right fit, which only makes room for another client on my book of business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely LOVE Dallas/DFW, and I am convinced that there is never nothing going on. Whenever I have friends visit, I normally pack our itinerary such that they ask for breaks and naps. Some of my go-to restaurants when I am showing someone a good time are anywhere with revolving sushi or robotic servers. I also love to take guests to virtual reality and virtual game boxes. I don’t know if I’ve ever had a weeklong guest that I haven’t taken to the Rodeo, and while in Fort Worth you’ll probably catch us at Panter City or Goldees BBQ. Speaking of – I love taking out-of-towners to experience lake life during the summer at Sunday Funday or Grapevine Lake. During the winter months, I find there is always some event, like a Mardi Gras Parade in Oak Cliff or a festival of Christmas Lights.

Dallas is also somewhat centrally located, so if we have time, I take guests on mini-trips to see the various safaris and wildlife preserves, waterfalls, and casinos.

There are so many unique experiences that Dallas has to offer, like gaucho-style pizza restaurants or food halls with endless flaming and bubbling drink options. Here, I have done silk art, made my own succulent terrarium, gone skeet shooting, taken a cheese-making class, and everything in between.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe my success entirely to my wife, who is my biggest supporter and drives me insane while doing it. When I don’t believe in myself, she won’t let me give up. And when I have even the smallest win, she celebrates like I’ve won the grand prize. She has encouraged me to know my worth and see my own talents, and I am excited to continue to share the fruits of my success with her as she deserves it more than me.
