We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Fisher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, what do you attribute your success to?
I would sum up Lizzie Bee’s success in one word: Support. The support of my family and friends, the stellar work of my team, the encouragement from continuing education and conferences that I’ve attended…all of these people and opportunities have allowed me and the shop to flourish and grow. I know that Lizzie Bee’s has only taken on such a beautiful form because I’ve allowed it to grow beyond just me, and to instill the same passion I have for luxury floral design and southern hospitality in others. Having a support base also allows me to push myself. Lizzie Bee’s has grown because we’ve gone the extra mile for clients, which means we work hard—but I’ve been able to work so hard and build such quality professional relationships because I have people behind me cheering me on.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Lizzie Bee’s Flower Shoppe is all about luxury flower design with a flair for Southern hospitality. The initial draw for many is our extensive experience with luxury floral design and installations for weddings and events, as well as the high quality of our daily floral arrangements. What keeps our customers coming back, though, is how down-to-earth and attentive our staff is. We design luxury arrangements, but we’re going to be dancing to Beyoncè while we’re in the design room. We provide high-quality wedding services, but your initial consultation should feel like making a new best friend. So much of what brought me and the shop to where we are is because of the time I’ve taken to surround myself with experts and work towards becoming an expert myself. We’ve been a part of Goldman Sach’s 10,000 small businesses, I’ve attended conference on conference…not to mention I’ve brought in team members with extensive backgrounds in retail, design, and operations who are just as passionate as I am about constantly improving and learning about new facets of our industry. We call our shop “The Hive” and it really is just that–we all rely on one another to create something big and beautiful!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My husband I collect our own Bourbon, so we’re all about supporting local distilleries! We’d check out Lockwood Distillery for some insanely amazing drinks and stop by Local Yocal for a down-home dinner with some fine dining flair. I feel like it’s apropos that one of our stops would be the Dallas Botanical Gardens…I could spend hours walking around all that pretty foliage and those gorgeous seasonal flower displays.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate my Shoutout to the amazing team that keeps Lizzie Bee’s Flower Shoppe delivering fresh flowers and designing beautiful events. 2020 was so hard for the floral industry; we rely so much on large celebrations and get-togethers for our business. Even in a period of uncertainty, our team pulled through and we’ve been able to grow even more than we were growing before the pandemic. I know 100% that the success we’ve seen in the face of uncertainty has been on the part of their willingness to push through and stay positive–it’s given me the hope I needed to cast a vision for 2021!
