We had the good fortune of connecting with Elbanie Montgomery and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elbanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process at the time was to make products that are natural products that can be used for all skin types and on skin ages. I myself being an esthetician and a mother of 4 suffer from Eczema all my life. When I started having children my two older boys had good skin with no issue. When I had my daughter that all changed. She had all the same skin issues as me. After completing cosmetology school I knew that my passion to provide healthy products that even a small child could use was a huge goal to help take some relief not only for myself but from my daughter. It also helps that she is just has happy to help make some of our lip glosses as well. I want to allow everyone the chance to have healthy beautiful skin. Its our largest organ and one of the most forgotten things to care for!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I originally set out to go into the beauty industry I didn’t fully know where I wanted to take my craft. In 2014 I started my journey into this industry by attending Ogle Beauty School. I met some amazing people while I was there that really opened my mind to how far I could really expand my brand. I wanted to start off by having my own Spa. The more knowledge that I gained made me want to not only have my own spa where I did services, but to want to make products that I would use on my clients. After completing and getting my license I then went back to school for Business Administration for Fashion Merchandise. My vision was born to have Dream Eunique Boutique and Cosmetics. A place where not only can you get your skin care needs, makeup essentials, and great fashion options. I put all my passions in one to create this brand.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man! This is a bit hard for me due to not having been out of the house in a while. With Covid and me having an infant I haven’t been out in the night life. But here goes what I would do! Monday- Make some brunch at home, go to a Escape room, grab some Korean street food from FrankSoul, head downtown to the Reunion Tower for drinks and the view.
Tuesday- GO see the Van Gogh art , grab some Chicken from Rudys since they never been here,
Wes- I love the Zoo so it would be a day at the Fort worth Zoo
Thursday- Go Horseback riding at Ascends and have a picnic there
Friday- Find a food tour to go on that has wine drinks as well! ( I am such a foodie)
Saturday- Catch a spa and nails day, do some shopping at the Galleria and got out to catch some Dallas nightlife downtown.
Sunday- Catch the Farmers market that morning to sample foods and then walk over to one of the Wine tours before going to the Ghost Tour at the Haunted Dallas Ghost and Pub Walking Tour
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say my mother really help push me to fully explore my dreams. She also is in the Cosmetology field as well. I watched her go to school while raising me and still complete school. My children are one of the most biggest people who need the recognition. I want to always provide for them and knowing that they are happy to see me go for my dreams with them along side as been an amazing lesson.
