We had the good fortune of connecting with Effectbombshelx and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Effectbombshelx, what inspires you?
When it comes to inspiration, there are so many facets of life that take part in what inspires me. Though truly I could not think of a bigger inspiration than my mother. I watched my mother conquer every obstacle and achieve every goal that was placed in front of her or that she set out to accomplish for herself. At the age of 37, my mother divorced and became a single mother of three children under the age of 15. During this very crucial time she was working 2 jobs while finishing her criminal justice degree. Watching the women that raised me, continue pushing despite adversity was not really noticed when I was a young adult but, as the women that I am today I acknowledge all the sacrifices that my mother faced so that her children needed for nothing. As a divorced single mother, myself I hold on to all the lessons and determination my mother showed my siblings and I. She is my biggest inspiration when it comes to continuing to better myself not just for more opportunities in life but to show my young son that there are always alternate routes around one-way roadblocks in life. At the age of 31 I decided to go back to school to get my degree in mental health and substance abuse counseling. I graduated spring of 2021 and plan to use my degree to start a nonprofit organization to mentor young women and men of color while transitioning from high school to adulthood. Our youth is our future and they deserve the same opportunities as their peers of other races. I plan on using my training obtained in modeling and acting school to mold these young adults into citizens that are prepared to conquer anything that life throws at them. My modeling experience has honestly helped me gain the utmost confidence in myself and accept my mind, body, and soul flaws and all.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am truly still growing in my journey. As a Freelance Model/Actress, I just take it one day at a time. It’s all about taking chances and stepping out on faith. Moving to Dallas 10 years ago hauled my modeling career for years because I felt the market was not as big as it was in Chicago. It wasn’t until recently that I decided to take my chances at the entertainment industry once again in Dallas. In Chicago I shot with some of the most well known photographers and worked promotional modeling for WGCI radio station as a Moon Dawg Mami. I also worked with many celebrities doing promotional modeling. I want my fans and your readers to know that Effectbombshelx is more than just a handle I’m a brand. The Bombshell Effect is the mark I plan to leave on this world. Showing my beautiful brown girls and boys that it’s okay to be strong & confident in the skin they are in.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m very simple and a homebody. But when I do get out the house I usually attend The Hangout in Irving for Karaoke Wednesdays. I love hitting the fabrication yards in Dallas because of all the beautiful art. I am a poetry lover so I usually try to attend open mic nights throughout the weekends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I most definitely have to give credit to my team that has helped me rebuild my entire portfolio. First and foremost, I have to give credit to Britton Satcher the man behind all of my montage videos. He has spent countless nights tapping into his creative genius to edit my videos. He is a huge reason why my social media presence continues to blossom. Next, I have to give gratitude to my beautician Tasha Frazier of Haus of Elite Salon in Arlington Texas. This woman keeps my hair on point and is always there when I’m having a hair emergency. I also have to thank my MUA team Alana Sherray & Eboni Owens for keeping my face beat for the Gods. Lastly, I have to thank some of my favorite photographers for capturing my beauty so gracefully. Andrew Rhoden, Maria Martinez, Elijah Collins, and Dominic Duke. You all are truly the best.
